@t3dotgg Kind of a noob to Next, but this kinda begs the question: if the compiler can detect non-server components, why isn't that enough for it to infer the "use client" instead of adding the extra dev friction?

“Hitting a wall immediately” is a GOOD thing if the way to work through it is obvious. It’s my favorite thing about the new model. Mistakes are caught by the compiler, not by Sentry after your useEffect causes a loop and runs a million times x.com/patrickjs__/st…

Idk I never used proper getting started I just hack my way through new tech until I hit a wall. The problem is that I hit the wall almost immediately. 5 years ago you could hack your way through react and when you hit an error it was a learning experience. What I did was make a new nextjs app with the goal of making a basic todo app
