30 years ago today, Steve Claridge’s 120th minute winner in the First Division play-off final became the last ever goal to be scored in the old traditional Wembley nets, before they were changed for Euro ‘96.
The end of an era.

Evertonians, not the end to the season we wanted, but we still want to thank you for your incredible support throughout the 2025/26 campaign.
Onwards and upwards. 💙
That's a wrap!
Totted it up and I've worked 101 games in different roles throughout the 2025/26 season!
It's all been incredible... Here's to hopefully many more in 2026/27
🤞🏼⚽📻📺🏟️
@LincolnUtdJosh I see the Lincolnshire Senior County Cup draw was redone due to accommodate Bourne Town's reprieve from demotion. In the new draw @LincolnUnited have been drawn away to Gainsborough Trinity, so it's an immediate chance to catch up with Connor Brown. 🤪
Everton expected to announce partnerships with CMC Markets (front of shirt) & Stake (sleeve) in time for new season
Deals yet to be finalised but, if confirmed, would represent progress as other clubs search for new sponsors

@GainsTrinityFC@LincolnUnited@edmayesphoto Good luck Connor. It goes without saying how your approach play and goals will be massively missed. Look after him Trinity, he's an absolute baller 🔥
Tonight, Connor Brown has completed a move to Step 3 in the non-league pyramid after scoring sixteen league goals in thirty-six league appearances during his time at Lincoln United.
A prolific goalscorer that aided our first season during our return to Step 4, alongside earning the Fan's Player of the Season award last Saturday, everybody at the club would like to thank Connor for his contributions across our campaign. We wish him all the very best in the next chapter of his career. 👏
Up the Whites. 🤍
@LincolnUtdJosh@HRichardson_04@OwenVin01 That's Henry Moore on your graphic! Owen Vincent never the same after that really bad shoulder dislocation. Such a shame, he was ripping it up every week before that injury.
Lincoln United can confirm that Heath Richardson, Jack Varley, Harvey Cribb, Brad Wells, Owen Vincent and Lewis Cunningham will be leaving the club going forward into the 2026/27 season.
Charlie Carlisle, alongside Noah Simmons, will also return to their parent club, Lincoln City.
We thank all of them for their services to the team over the past season and beyond. Once a White... always a White! 🤍

We’re delighted to welcome Henry Moore to Bottesford Town Football Club.
Henry arrives with valuable experience at Step 4, having previously featured for Lincoln United, Grimsby Borough and Winterton Rangers.
A commanding centre back with strong defensive qualities, Henry will bring real solidity and presence to the back line heading into the new season.
💙💛 Welcome to The Poachers, Henry.
@Benjwinst Madness. For the first time in 5 years Everton havent been in a relegation scrap, and everyone is doing a pile-on to the manager. Wind yer necks in, there is absolutely no way the board are letting Moyes go this summer.
If the manager is available that fits with the clubs strategy, plans, philosophy, recruitment for years to come you make the change this summer. I really hope they get it right, today like all season I really don’t see any sort of plan going forward. Include TFG in that aswell.
@LincolnUnited Richly deserved in a crowded field of outstanding performers. Hopefully has the energy for one more season. This must have been an impossible decision for the manager tho with the entire spine of the team being magnificent.
@maladict23@BBCSheffield@SheffieldStar We do have gates of 700.
Which is what makes this even more inconceivable.
The players are leaving because the future is bleak those inside or close to the club are aware of this
Very Sheffield Wednesday 25/26 feeling about Hallam right now.
Is there a David Storch waiting to rescue us
Who knows.
@BBCSheffield@SheffieldStar be very good if you could help us raise awareness of the dire situation surrounding the 2nd oldest club in the world.
@S10propaganda@BBCSheffield@SheffieldStar Hmmm. Financial issues seems a bit odd. You just got promoted and have gates of 700? There's always big players movement at this level. Earlier this season, Lincoln fielded an 11 where not one player was part of the league winning squad the season before.
