@KamatlabND @JChemPhys Amazing papers! As a PhD student I recall my reading of both these papers as the “aha” moment when I finally understood - quantitatively - how a QD was different from a cluster/molecule. Gorgeous pedagogical development.

BREAKING NEWS The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2023 #NobelPrize in Chemistry to Moungi G. Bawendi, Louis E. Brus and Alexei I. Ekimov “for the discovery and synthesis of quantum dots.”

Check out our latest work in @Nature! We show that photon avalanching nanoparticles can be switched on and off repeatedly using light, which allows us to perform <1 Å accuracy super-resolution imaging and 3D nanopatterning. nature.com/articles/s4158… (open access link in 🧵)

Whitman Chemistry is searching for TWO visiting colleagues for the next academic year! One focused on organic (apply.interfolio.com/119311) and one on pchem/general chemistry (apply.interfolio.com/119293). We have an amazing department and fantastic students; please spread the word!

There’s only 3 days left to get your abstract submitted for our PHYS symposium “Innovative Teaching in Physical Chemistry” so don’t delay! @lizz_thrall @gracestokes @markphendricks

This atomic-scale movie upends a 100-year-old theory! Thanks to record-breaking 🔬 video resolution at our @molecularfoundry, scientists have discovered 🔎 how atomic-scale defects direct #nanoparticle growth. Check it out ⬇️ newscenter.lbl.gov/2022/07/26/how…

The ACS Division of Physical Chemistry is hosting 9 symposia during the Spring 2023 ACS Meeting in Indianapolis (March 26-30). Visit the PHYS website for the complete listing. The abstract submission deadline is October 17. phys-acs.org/event/acs-spri…
