Which has led some to question whether he preys on Anthony Joshua, when AJ is at his most vulnerable. On the other hand, it could be argued that that narrative is hugely exaggerated. Because Tyson Fury called out Anthony Joshua straight after beating Deontay Wilder in 2020, when both of them were world champions. Wilder’s contract clause scuppered AJ and fury getting it on that summer. Similarly, AJ has kept on losing to multiple different opponents. He lost his belts one month before fury kept his side of the bargain, by beating Deontay Wilder in the trilogy. Meanwhile Anthony Joshua lost his belts again & as it transpired… that would be the last time he’d ever hold a world title. Who should AJ fight as a warmup? Think Wilder is the obvious answer but I think that fight has risk and also doesn’t go many rounds. AJ has only boxed 13 rounds since 2023. Fury boxed 12 last night. Think AJ needs a 12 rounder against a decent fighter.

Everyone forgets, this fight has been agreed so many times, and Fury was the one who ruined it. Fury agreed to the fight knowing he was contracted for a trilogy with Wilder. I don’t believe anyone has ducked anyone but AJ has been the one has done more to make it happen
