Kid took minimal, backup reps all offseason, w the understanding “I won’t be playing”. Then got thrown in, knowing nobody wanted him in, and had the entire playbook he’d been working to learn thrown out the window, for a uber predictable gameplan, w zero creativity, behind literally 14 different O Lineman. He didn’t play well, but nobody would’ve succeeded.

Youth participation across baseball (-20%) and tackle football (-13%) is down a lot over the several years, while sports like tennis (+51%), Golf (+32%), and soccer (+4%) have seen substantial growth. Also, boys (40%) are still more likely to play sports than girls (35%) — but the two genders are headed in opposite directions. Interesting numbers. (h/t @AspenInstitute)
