Part seven of my PMO memoir is up. Who pays the price in politics?

Part Six of my PMO memoir is live. From pop anthems to political hypocrisy: how a columnist, a former Chief of Staff, and a Katy Perry chorus can lead us to a place where online hate can turn into real world consequences. open.substack.com/pub/maxvalique…

@Sid_Seixeiro Give them a break. They just don’t know what a full stadium sounds like.

@David_Moscrop this used to be the official position, I’d like to hope it still is!

I wonder how the Canadian government feels about this given that the US claims — incorrectly — we’re a major source of fentanyl. I’d love to hear!

Time of my life: part five of my PMO memoir is live. Leaks, misquotes, bad incentives - how nobody wins when the leak is the goal.

Time of my life (part four) is live: we all should remember that innovation comes from outside the bubble, and MPs should remember to hold their phones properly in public open.substack.com/pub/maxvalique…

I've published Part Three of my PMO memoir: a close read of "Housing Hell," how numbers become "news," and an awful lot of digital metrics. It's still fun.

Part Two of my PMO memoir covers the job, the gap between old and new comms, why a press-sec approach could raise the floor, and how controlled access makes things better for politicians (but worse for the rest of us).

A call came from a 613-area code number. I picked up. "Max!" Part one of my PMO memoir is live: open.substack.com/pub/maxvalique…

Boomers against Zoomers! Karens versus Chads! I was on Cross Country Checkup this week, providing expertise on the conflict (and consensus!) between generations. Listen here: cbc.ca/listen/live-ra…

I went silent for 18 months. No posts, no media, no stages. On purpose, because my job as Executive Director of Communications for the Prime Minister of Canada wasn’t about me.
Now I’m back! And sharing what I’ve learned, what’s next, and even some tea. open.substack.com/pub/maxvalique…

I'll be on @cbcradio one the @CBCNews YouTube Channel taking about generational differences just after 5pm EST today, on Cross-country Checkup! Do you think other generations have it easier than yours? Is yours unfairly stereotyped? Tune in! youtube.com/watch?v=5vfaDs…

@supriyadwivedi Who is going to break it to Ginny that 3/4 of the CPC candidates in this election were men?
English

I agree -- get those DEI male hires outta there!!!!
Ginny Roth@GinnyRothTO
It must be said. Choosing a Cabinet based on immutable physical characteristics is still a very messed up thing to do.

@_scottreid May I add: he can't stop lying. It's 23 more seats - not 25, as he claims (24 from the 2021 total; 23 from dissolution, and more like a 20 seat increase over the nominal since there's five more ridings).

My review:
1. Beautiful viz
2. A hint of reflection: "grow", "expand"
3. But only a hint. It's a declaration of status quo. Right down to the same canned script he ran and lost on.
4. And the whole thing is phony. A self-conscious, over-produced parody of what a politician says.
