@richsharpe89 @michaelmaud It shouldn’t, but doesn’t every club in the PL and Champ now have revenue-generating scams guaranteeing priority access to away tickets? Burnley’s US owners invented *Premium Memberships* 🙄 so people with zero loyalty points can jump the ticket queue for all away fixtures. 🤮

I keep going over this to try and find a way to not read it as ‘the more you spend at Blackburn Rovers the more you are rewarded’

@richsharpe89 Ah ok, fair point. I read it as the more you attend, the more points you get, which I think is how the previous scheme worked, but I see your take on it as well.

@michaelmaud if this was a money back/discount on purchases scheme, I’d have no issue with it, but this mentions loyalty points, which fans will basically see as priority to Burnley away tickets, and that shouldn’t come down to what you spend in the shop/concourse

@HBerry177 These figures are skewed when it comes to when Rovers were in the PL and not. I'm not convinced setting up the academy was to supply other teams, rather than produce talent for our team to get us back to the Premier League. But as we've failed at that, your point is still valid

Premier league appearances by our own. You can get carried away by Wharton and Raya but the figures look low for a Category One Academy. Eighteen players in 34 years.

@saintlymark @patmurphybbc We want our supporters in the stadiums, not followers watching from home. And we are already the only proper football option, where goals can be celebrated or agonised over in real time, where fans turn up not tourists and where a pint and pie still costs less than £10.

Absolute masterclass from Adam Wharton! 22 years old, dominating the midfield in a European final and deservedly named Man of the Match. Crystal Palace’s academy gem shining on the biggest stage. England fans are right to ask questions — this kid has to be in Tuchel’s plans. Future is bright! #AdamWharton #ConferenceLeagueFinal

@StanCollymore Amazing reaction to adversity after looking like he was going to be overlooked by England. Great to see we’ve got more than Harry Kane in terms of form strikers going to the WC

@JamesHunt07 @henrywinter @WorldSoccerMag I think England now have an embarrassment of riches in midfield, being able to not select Palmer, Foden, Wharton where for a number of years the majority of the squad picked itself. When Southgate took over he highlighted low number of English players playing in Premier League

@henrywinter @WorldSoccerMag "Academies, EPPP and Lee Carsley have sent more talent Tuchel’s way." Can you be specific on the, "more". I mean, what is explicitly "more"? Is this a numerical more? More than previously? If so provide specifics

How far can England go at the World Cup under Thomas Tuchel? What’s par? Gareth Southgate raised expectations, built a strong culture and squad. Academies, EPPP and Lee Carsley have sent more talent Tuchel’s way. A look at England’s chances for @WorldSoccerMag #ENG
World Soccer@WorldSoccerMag

🏴 Thomas Tuchel has so much exceptional playing material to work with, players who love reporting for duty, desperate to deliver. Tuchel himself was brought in to deliver the World Cup. A semi-final might be the limit of England ambitions. 🖊️ @henrywinter

@JimWilkz23 The reaction of the player has helped justify the manager’s decision. Releases a tweet all about him and shock at decision etc, before the official announcement lacked class. Described himself recently as arguably the best defender in the world in both boxes - what a big head

I have no strong opinions about the England squad but arguing about which centre half takes better pens seems odd. Anyone can score or miss a pen on the day. Just as Kane can miss one a keeper can occasionally put an unstoppable one in.

@henrywinter Tuchel said in March that Maguire was 5th choice but didn't name Burn ahead of him. I can't see what has happened since March that puts Burn ahead of Maguire. I know when it inevitably comes to a shootout at the WC, Maguire would be one I would have no nerves about taking one

Dan Burn ahead of Harry Maguire is absolutely baffling. On grounds of form, experience, leadership, penalty-taking. Baffling.

@JimWilkz23 I’d have Mowbray back in a heartbeat. Sensible coach who got the best out of what he had. Recovered the team and established us back in Championship. On reflection of his comments on him not challenging the owners for more money, that hardly worked well for those who followed him

@sid_lambert He got a standing ovation the season after when West Ham visited Ewood Park. Watching this back now, you can also see so many West Ham players throwing their bodies in front of the ball to block shots etc.

It’s the anniversary of Ludo Miklosko’s superhuman performance foiling Manchester United, and giving Blackburn the title in 1995. Fucking hell. He deserved a winners’ medal for this...

He's played the most minutes of any Englishman in Europe. So yes, he's knackered. Unai's probably played him because he knows he's off and is milking every drop from him, even then though his form at times meant he should have been told to fuck off away for a few days and have a break. It's a legitimate reason for a drop off. If and when he does go though, if he flicks it without holding it at a United, Arsenal or Bayern, he'll be having plenty of rest on the bench. No excuses for that.

Pretty revealing this. And glad it’s been written. I sort of arrived at a place a while ago on Villa’s season. And where we are as a club. No one at Villa expects Rogers to be Nov / Dec Rogers. He’s playing in the hope he can provide a decisive moment. Why? #avfc

@_ElliottJackson Good to see him do well, however it is worth acknowledging this is in a division lower than the championship. Hope he can step up alternately maybe he’s destined to be the new Harry Chapman

Always sensed that Cozier-Dubbery might fly in his second loan. Showed flashers at Rovers but first loans are tough. Looks way too good for League One. #Rovers🌹

@JimWilkz23 It looks like you’re using an iPad, Apple uses the CMD key instead of CTRL. It looks like that black keyboard is not an Apple one, the the correct key will be the windows key (the one with the Microsoft logo on it) Windows & A is select all, Windows & C to copy, Windows & V paste

@PropaNortherner @RoversXtra Indeed, I get it. When Rovers were winning in the 90s, Burnley were in 3rd/4th division. Did they give up and die? Did Coventry? I have 2 kids who look at me sometimes like what have you given me? But feel free to catastrophise, maybe this season will be a nadir, maybe not.

@PropaNortherner @RoversXtra Yawn. We are all slowly dying, maybe we can enjoy some football before our time is up? Or maybe not. How’s turning off the taps worked out for Sheffield Wednesday? I do feel for fans who never saw the 90s and 00s though. If I hadn’t seen such riches, I could live with being poor

RIP Tony Parkes The very 1st autograph I ever got when he came to present certificates at a football camp at Witton Park. A loyal, humble and valued Blackburn Rovers servant. Just reading and listening to all of the tributes here with tears in my eyes. RIP to a #rovers legend

Reflections on the season, these two lads have been a huge positive and so pleased for Yuki to get his goals last night. The hard work, experience and professionalism tapped into by MON has seen us through. Playing squad needs revitalising now, losing more experience #rovers
