i hate how much hate she gets on this app, i often see people claim she was “boring” when that couldn’t be farther from the truth
she had layers of depth and brought great drama to the book , she’s a personal fav of mine

@imjustdavonte @shesotii I feel like she has enough capital by now to get better projects. It’s nothing against her at all but it does suck to see a lot of actresses do really shoddy parts for a few years and then they get associates with shoddy films so they don’t get the chance to do anything decent

Because that's how comics work. Peter Parker is no longer a dorky Objectivist like Dikto envisioned him but a wise cracking science nerd. For decades, he was a pretty cool guy and photographer too.

Gwen is the perfect girlfriend who has no personal life or agency that doesn’t revolve around her boyfriend who she adores without question, and has the added bonus of being dead so she’ll always exist as this perfect memory in your head you never have to interact with

@mintopalu @4Evil_Resident2 They literally left him with his aunt and uncle, and is brought up three times during Peter and Ben's conversations, and is the driving force for why Pete goes to investigate Oscorp. Pete is literally crying when he brings it up because it still effects him so vividly.

@mintopalu @4Evil_Resident2 Comics were better for sure, but that's not the topic here. I didn't make shit up, it was all shown in the film. They were only stable because they were only together for like a month, the 'cupcake phase' is notorious for exactly what was shown, with the 'drama' being external.

But there’s nothing THAT deep, even in the comics it was deeper cause Gwen hated Spidey and they had the miscommunication trope

Then you have the entire deal with Conners and becoming a vigilante, which exacerbates everything.

@mintopalu @4Evil_Resident2 Peter's parents abandon him, he seeks out what happened. Uncle ben arc. George hates and is hunting Spider-Man, Gwen actively tries to help Peter, putting her in danger, leading to the whole relationship set up of 2 in which he ghosts her.
