its all a big mix of things but i do think all these new techniques and trends are getting repetitive

of course not every frame can be a full thought piece... but when every single frame has pastel colors in it and everything looks very soft and bright thats where we start having issues

i never realized why modern anime looks so unappealing, i always thought it was because of all the effects and digital techniques....... but now i believe one of the main reasons is the lack of contrast and all the similar values

Pretty frustrating how no one seems interested in addressing the real elephant in the room: that digital coloring in anime has been terrible for over a decade now
