@israel_ajoje If someone holds you to high standards, it’s a compliment, not an insult and only a testament to what he has achieved in the game of football.
A man being held to extremely high standards is a good thing, as it separates the wheat from the chaff.

Let me say something that does not get said enough. The standards Guardiola is being held to right now are genuinely unfair, and I suspect a big part of it is because of what Real Madrid did between 2016 and 2018.
Guardiola has won the Champions League three times. Twice with Barcelona in 2009 and 2011, and once with Manchester City in 2023. Two titles in three years at Barcelona alone.
That is a ridiculous output by any measure. Most of the greatest managers in football history never won it once. Sir Alex Ferguson, with all of United's dominance across two decades, won it twice.
Guardiola has won it three times across two clubs and people are out here acting like it is a problem.
Zidane's Real Madrid won the Champions League three consecutive times in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Then Ancelotti came back and won it again in 2022 and 2024. Five titles in nine years for one club.
When the benchmark being whispered about is Real Madrid across that period, suddenly three wins across two different clubs in completely different leagues starts looking insufficient by comparison. That is not a fair comparison. That is an almost impossible standard being quietly applied to one man.
Winning the Champions League once is hard. Winning it twice is historic. Winning it three times puts you in a conversation with Bob Paisley and Zidane. The fact that we are debating Guardiola's legacy in this competition at all tells you more about how extraordinary the last decade of European football has been than it tells you anything negative about him.

🚨 Pep Guardiola on potentially leaving Man City with just one UCL title: “Oh, everybody wants to fire me, right?!”. 😁 “One day I will come here and say: Bye bye, guys! And still I'm here, one more year of contract…”, says via @City_Xtra.

Julian Alvarez is a better finisher than Erling Haaland. Haaland is phenomenal, but Julian Alvarez just has that edge and is the most underrated striker in world football.
If I’m Hugo Viana, I’m doing everything in my power to bring him back to the Etihad.
What a player and what an error of judgement from City to sell him, because again, Pep didn’t play him. Absolutely ridiculous.

@UKBackintheDay2 I’d forgotten about this. I’ve just played it to my 23 yo, who likes dance and he loves the drop. He’s now googling Sash. Thanks for sharing!

Exclusive 💣 Pep Guardiola has called an emergency meeting with Manchester City officials in the last few hours. Pep is considering quitting at the end of the season. #MCFC are trying to change his mind.

@GeronimoMorgans You fix it by removing all but Rodri and replace with Anderson and Tonali.
Strength, pace, dynamism, aggression.

I genuinely wouldn’t feel anyway if Guardiola left in the summer and took Bernardo with him. Exceptional service to the club, but now it’s time for change.
Pep Guardiola is not going to change the way he plays. We will still see the same, slow, methodical, 980 passes without end product football we’ve seen for the last 2 years.
Go and get me Hansi Flick or Luis Enrique.
