#ChoiHyunWook and #JungChaeYeon will reportedly star in upcoming youth romcom baseball drama, ‘Green Light’. #GreenLight is a youthful romantic comedy set in the late 1990s. It tells the story of a campus romance that begins when a young man who has only ever known baseball enters the law department to reunite with his first love. The drama captures the thrill of first love, the growing pains of youth, and the unique atmosphere of that era. Choi Hyun-wook plays a first-year law student who was once a star high school pitcher. On the mound, he was passionate, confident, and hotter than anyone else, but when it comes to love, he knows only one direction — straight ahead. He is a pure-hearted young man who changes the entire course of his life because of his feelings for his first love. In real life, Choi Hyun-wook was a former baseball player. He played as a catcher for Suwon North Middle School and helped the team win the championship at the 2017 National Middle School Baseball Tournament. He had to quit baseball after suffering an elbow injury during his first year of high school. Jung Chae-yeon takes on the role of Song Ji-woo, a sophomore in the law department. She appears bright and strong on the outside, but carries deep emotional wounds and secrets she can't easily share with anyone. Through her unexpected reunion with Choi Hyun-wook, she finally confronts the long-buried feelings in her heart and begins to move forward. The drama is built on the intriguing real-life premise of “the last era when athletes could still enter law school.” Before 2000, student athletes in Korea were allowed to enroll in various departments such as law or business administration, not just physical education. For example, baseball player Kim Byung-hyun attended the law school at Sungkyunkwan University, and basketball player Woo Ji-won entered the law department at Yonsei University. This authentic historical background makes the story of a promising baseball player stepping into the unfamiliar world of law school feel all the more convincing and relatable.
