Several of these students could afford to pay their tuition before the removal of the education subsidy from this same administration which led to a massive increase in their tuition.
You cannot make unfavorable policies that made families face severe financial pressure & then offer them loans yet expect applause.

And yet some people, from the comfort of their air-conditioned rooms, dismissed both the need for and the impact of NELFUND. Students have dropped out of school over what others consider a “paltry” ₦10,000, while many more have had to sacrifice their studies to survive through side hustles. The story of LAUTECH’s 2026 best graduating student, whose GPA had been slipping before the NELFUND intervention but turned into a run of straight As afterwards, speaks volumes. Not everyone experiences the world through the same privileges or circumstances. Stop looking at the world through your rose-coloured lenses.

From findings, they were doing community service, however when you want to do community service in a place you are not known, its important to consult the leaders and inform the authorities like the police or community heads about your organization and intention. The community didn't recognize them, hence they invited the police. The dpo interviewed them and discovered their intentions were genuine and they were allowed to go. Not everything should be turned to content pls.
