We need to stop treating Axios as sourced news.
They are a neutral reporting entity, any government source telling them something gets reported.
Meanwhile Pakistani, Egyptian, and Turkish mediators ALL already confirmed to news outlets that Iran rejected these talks.
Axios prints takes from one valid source, and assumes you’ll consider that context.
It does not cross validate.
It is basically neutral headline summaries.
That works great in normal times - but it’s useless if an admin is willing to lie through its teeth.

BREAKING: President Trump's advisors are reportedly texting Iran's Foreign Minister Araghchi in an attempt to continue negotiations, per Axios. Two sources involved in the negotiations said the talks are also taking place through Pakistani, Egyptian, and Turkish mediators.

The US lost around eight miltiary aircraft worth perhaps half a billion dollars or more in a frenetic 36 hours in which two pilots nearly lost their lives while bombing a country half a world away that posed little if any threat to the US in a war of choice that has made the Middle East more dangerous and combustible then ever and idiotic Brosints and war freaks are on here celebrating it like it was some big "success."

If we bomb Irans power grid and cut off water and power to 90 million people we spark a humanitarian crisis, massive refugee influx, imminent terrorist attacks on american soil, fertilizer and food shortages, we finish off the already building energy crisis, possibly initiate a civil war opening the door for martial law and our armed forces basically become the largest terrorist organization on the planet.
If we don’t Trump makes America look weak and unstable, and it’s open season on everything American worldwide.

In this war, there are allied pilots shooting down three F-15s in a row, all kinds of mechanical failures, and even two C-130s having mechanical breakdowns at the same time and in the exact same place.
Then people ask me why I always challenge the official narratives. It must be because they are ridiculously stupid. In everywhere and from any govt.
Analysts, journalists, and OSINT accounts that don’t seriously question the official version of the war don’t even deserve to be read or followed.
As for those C-130s, with that many holes from air defense shrapnel, it’s no wonder they had multiple mechanical failures at the same time.

According to ABC News, citing U.S. officials, two MC-130Js Combat King II rescue aircraft and four MH-6 Little Bird helicopters were deliberately destroyed by U.S. forces during a search and rescue mission in Iran because they experienced mechanical issues.

The New York Times report on the rescued US airman falsely implies local Iranians aided him.
I asked Julian Barnes, co-author of the report, what the evidence was for this. His Response: 'Oh, Iranians didn't assist the airman. This was speculation "from our Iran experts."
(The article never clarifies that this was pure speculation, without any evidence; it has not been edited to indicate that in Barnes's own assessment the airman was not assisted by local Iranians; and it is being used to manufacture consent for this war, based on the conspiracy theory that 'Iranians want this.' Do better, @nytimes. Very disappointing.)
