@Philopearl_Afc I wouldn't worry. The smart money is on liability first. It will be very difficult to argue sanction before liability because with so many charges the varieties of outcome are too big. It may well also be liability then appeal then sanction.
English

@Quasimodoscott @DeanJamesAFC Not really. The very act of saying rumours are starting meant he made his post instantly true by starting the rumour. That made it even more mad.
English

@nicksinger7 @DeanJamesAFC Arsenal fans live in a fantasy world!!!
English

It’s being reported that Man City could be deducted 60pts. No official confirmation yet but it is expected before the end of the season. If it does happen now they’ll end up last in the league and face relegation.
I personally hope it doesn’t happen until next season if that ends up being the outcome.
English

@nicksinger7 I did not get this from said “account,” this is coming from very high tier places atm.
English

@fullback03 You are staying up given West Ham are unlikely to get another point! But don't get your hopes up about this. The rumour was started by some Arsenal account who literally just said 'rumours are building'.
English

@YankeeGunner There is obviously a problem with someone reviewing their own decision especially when sent by their mates. Moving VAR abroad would help with the second element. I felt the ref in Gyok's penalty shout against Newcastle didn't have a clue - was just pressured.
English

I actually think if you get past how silly this is, you see the problem with VAR very clearly. VAR has the capability to correct erroneous decisions, but that’s not really its remit. The current guidelines favor on-pitch decisions to a degree that contrives to rubber stamp errors
Dale Johnson@DaleJohnsonBBC
The Premier League's Key Match Incidents (KMI) Panel has ruled there was no VAR error on Kai Havertz's penalty claim for Arsenal v Everton. However, it unanimously voted that the spot-kick for Michael Keane's foul should have been awarded on-field. 👇 bbc.co.uk/sport/football…
English

@DaleJohnsonBBC That's an interesting one as I thought the referee's view on field wasn't great, but the VAR view was very clear and warranted a trip to the monitor.

@JNights2 @themagic_tophat @themagic_tophat has been absolutely scathing of the Chelsea decision - look through his posts.
English

@themagic_tophat Can I ask you where is all this outrage for the situation at Chelsea?? Or is it just city you have an adgenda against. Genuine question.
English

People keep talking about a mere points deduction for Man City.
Imagine for a moment that you’re judging what they did and you came to the conclusion that…
1) They demonstrated a total lack of respect for the rules and instead, a total preparedness to cheat them.
2) Their cheating was on a massive scale that distorted the league’s integrity for years and continues to do so - they have become financially dominant through cheating.
3) They demonstrated a total disregard for the Premier League Board’s authority, undertaking costly law-fare wherever possible to make this a battle of financial attrition.
4) They have, in effect, unlimited resources.
5) The only way this came to light was because they made a mistake and allowed themselves to be hacked. An event unlikely to repeat itself.
Then surely the implication is that they are a dangerous, rogue participant that is completely ungovernable and whose presence in the league completely undermines its integrity?
Personally, I see very few workable solution to such a problem and none of them are a mere points deduction.
English

@ThatGuy28780245 Yeah there are loads of permutations aren't they? But there'll be lots of ups and downs given Arsenal's fixture congestion and how each premier league game is a war in and of itself.
English

@nicksinger7 Essentially a win vs Bournemouth & a draw/win against City gives Arsenal the league if they can win 4 from the 5 fixtures after City.
Or even win 3 and draw 2.
English

Arsenal so far this season have lost 4 games IN ALL COMPS.
Arteta has told the majority of the starting 11 to stay home for the international break.
Odegaard & Timber are coming back from injury.
Eze will be back by mid to late April.
The team would have to lose 3 of their last 7 in order to “bottle it” whilst the inconsistent Man City would have to be perfect in their last 8.
Not saying it’s “impossible” to lose the league from this situation… but if you’re an Arsenal fan that’s panicking now & spreading fear on social media… you’re a big part of the problem. Back the boys.
Bournemouth next. One game at a time. City after.
English

@RosaCatherineK At least you'll be able to roll out the old Klinsmann chant!

English

@FtProgression 100%. My main worry here is that we’ve bitten off more than we can chew. Doing well in everything may lead to no trophies at all.
English

@KNGDM_Prince Look at the statement though - it says nothing. In fact his own post confirms what he is saying. He is literally starting a rumour that Man City will be getting a points deduction pretty soon.
English

Wild if it happens now. No way they’d kill the run in like this. It’ll be a mercy to City because even if there’s a chance they catch Arsenal it’s still a longshot. Has to be next season
AFCAMDEN@AFCAMDEN
Rumours starting to build that Manchester City will be getting a points deduction pretty soon.
English

@gmhales There is definitely a case to reward perhaps at 98 or 99% to take into account a couple of days of illness. But just because someone is rewarded for 100%, does not mean a 98% or 99% rate is a 'moral failure'.
English

@Cityzen_Queen Of course not least because City play Arsenal. But I take a step back - City can get a maximum of 84 points. I doubt they will win every game. Even if they do Arsenal - with an ok run in - can lose to City, but win the league with 5 wins and a draw. Its tough for City.
English

@Salibasexual02 I don't really know where the rumours are coming from. I obviously don't have inside knowledge but the smart money was on - liability, appeal, sanction or liability, sanction, appeal (with sanction then taking effect). Sanction now seems unlikely.
English

City having points deducted suits Liverpool & Chelsea more than it would us, we are 9 points clear & winning it with or without the deduction, all it’ll do is ease the pressure & start the party early.
Those 2 would secure CL Football as a result, forget Chelsea because they are just as bad as City but Liverpool would be the big winners here.
Part of me wants them to delay it so they miss out but City need to be punished so just get it done so football can heal.
English

@spencermorgan93 I don't want to believe it but Gabriel would not withdraw from the Brazil squad's last meet up before the World Cup without good reason. And that would not be to make sure he is fit for Arsenal. Brazilian footballers think differently.
English

@10akhil If it was Newcastle or Forest or even Chelsea it wouldn’t be so bad. So much narrative around it given we may see them in the FA cup plus the league plus Arteta being ‘schooled’ by Pep.
English

@EGTVEgal If Havertz was fit and firing I’d be confident. But he’s crocked and not much on the bench in that position. Whilst Saka at 10 makes so much sense he’s been awful there
English

@Salibasexual02 @AFC_Monty_ Exactly this. The only concern is Havertz’s fitness and it leaves us thinner on the bench. But if Odegaard is ready for 30-40 mins then fine
English

@AFC_Monty_ If he’s out, it’ll be Kai 10, Gyokeres 9, we looked our most dangerous in the brief month they were together
