@SeismicGlen In a few very select areas...so your logic is to spend millions on a boat to save a handful of homes where the water is deep enough? Do you not think firefighting pros would have recommended this if it would have any measurable impact? Or are they also in on the conspiracy? 🙄

@nidodesigninc Ive visited Okanagan Lake numerous times and have been at both ends of the lake, some properties are meters from the lake, lake can be over 200-400 ft deep just meters off shore

Modern water cannons can have flow rates of up to 20 liters of water per second, and can stream water 67 meters away. Kelowna could’ve put these on 20 boats and controlled the fire, why didn’t they?

#West #Kelowna Fire Chief just confirmed that local air quality is currently the biggest risk to both firefighters and public! Limit time outdoors, wear a N95 mask, reduce if not turn off any devices pulling outdoor air inside, clean or upgrade air filters!

@SeismicGlen It is incredibly frustrating to read the cesspool which Twitter has become. People around the world spewing this is some sort of conspiracy when they have zero understanding of our area. People are hurting, scared, not sure if they even have homes left....leave us alone.

@nidodesigninc Ppl build lake front buildings as close as possible to the water, water cannons would’ve protected these homes because most of them would be within 67 meters from the shore, they weren’t trying to protect the tree’s, elevation man!!

@SeismicGlen My point being...you clearly have no understanding of this area, the lake, or the topography. This is the driest year on record in BC's history...in June/July we've had all of 13mm of rain (1/2"), had double the number of 30C+ (86F) days than normal, and had very low snowpack.

@SeismicGlen Your not wrong to say that but all but a few of the original homes on the shores of this lake must be a minimum of 30m back from the natural boundary of the lake as this is considered the "riparian area" where no development is allowed. (1/2)

4. Standalone HEPA level air filters that clean interior air with MERV13+ filters are ideal. If you can't find one locally get one ordered and if you can, order an extra for your friends/family as this could be the most boring gift but also most helpful gift you'll ever give.

The outdoor air quality throughout Kelowna and many communities throughout the Okanagan and BC is absolutely brutal! Concentrations of particulate matter (ash, dust, pollen) have hit as high as 690ppm (parts per million) in some areas of Kelowna. Here are some tips...
