@AJogee It's shocking that it's been able to remain open as long as it has, given the number of complaints, how close it is to people's homes, and the impact on the health of the poeple in the area. You can even smell it when driving along the A500. Stink-on-Trent 🙄

I’m angry that Walleys Quarry is so quickly open again. We haven’t had the results of the Fire Service investigation. The health of local people is my priority and I’ve made that clear to Ministers, the EA & UK HSA. We need the site closed, capped & restored. And fast.

@AJogee @fjgm_ Why on earth have Red Industries been granted permission to quarry at Bradwell. They couldn't run an egg & spoon race, let alone any business in a residential area.

@ShafiAhmed5 Just awful. Had to counsel my son about action to take to remove himself and his friends of other races from the situation if they encounter any issues when they are out in Stoke area. Having to coach your own child about this prior to a cinema and chicken shop outing is so sad.

Just had to speak to my daughter, a medical student and advise her not to go out anywhere and stay on campus apart from teaching placements. I never thought I would have to say this to her. My parents had to tell us the same in the 70s.

@WhistleblowingT I contacted two of my department this holiday. One to congratulate on a successful house move, one to wish a happy BIG birthday. I have spent 30 years making sure my shit was together for September before the last day of term. I am not doing a tap for 6 weeks, never have.

The picture is the only blurry one and I stand corrected if wrong because he does look the type but disinformation is what got us here in the 1st place . We all must do better

@provokedpedago1 Delayed payrises means some lose benefits payments in the month when they finally get it too. This is why we can't recruit and retain them. Primary ones are often expected to teach too, which is unacceptable.

@MrARawlings After 3 decades I find my way of teaching is back in fashion. Turns out I just needed people to write a new book and do SLT training courses so I was no longer a dinosaur. The Teachers Toolkit years were particularly trying. I did not miss that laminated hellscape.

Sparing a thought for the more mature teachers. Some spent a decade or more of their careers being labelled as boring, obstructive and grumpy because they didn't buy into the glitz, glamour and frills of the debunked guff that was poured into schools over the last 10+ years!

If you’re a head of a school or CEO 🫤 of several and you’re asking people to make all their classrooms, PowerPoints, worksheets look exactly the same, then you are not just part of the problem. You ARE the problem. Stop it! You’re killing education. Go and manage a McDonalds.

@ETusty @lifeatthenest It increases workload unless time is given to bring years of resources and planning that you draw on into line with template. It means time spent making things uniform instead of doing quality planning and assessment. Busy work.

@lifeatthenest I'm not a teacher but totally agree with this from a child point of view. But maybe they're thinking of efficiencies, reducing workload, and 'branding'. Can't see why else they'd want to (although can't see the same classrooms working for kids)

@TLanokia 'Good morning, can I help you?' Make prolonged eye contact and wait... I'm up to 50 minutes of observation over 4 visits so far this year. Already had our rep flag up that the capacity for most staff will be done before Christmas at this rate. Call it a Learning Walk is bullshit.

If one more motherf---er comes in my room, closes the door after themselves, tilts their head, sighs and adopts a patronising smile... I'm done.
