I've heard this episode labelled as the humiliation of Zelenskyy. I think it is more accurate to be the humiliation of America and republicans. Trump and Vance are bullies who will isolate America from the rest of the world.
Dr Krish Kandiah OBE@krishk

5 reasons the Trump and Vance bullying of Zelentsky made me angry 1. Arrogance Towards Zelensky Trump and Vance treated Zelensky with blatant condescension, refusing to acknowledge his courageous leadership or the gravity of Ukraine’s struggle. Their smug, patronising words show no understanding of diplomacy or basic manners. Things started badly with Trump mocking Zelentsky's clothing when he arrived. 2. Ignorance of the Situation in Ukraine Their total lack of understanding was evident as they dismissed Ukraine’s urgent pleas for support and downplayed the severity of the war, not just on Ukraine but the world. When challenged, Vance explained that his superior knowledge to Zelentsky about Ukraine came from watching TV and reading news stories. Truth doesn't matter in the administration. 3. Deference to Russia They openly echoed Kremlin-friendly narratives, pressuring Zelensky to consider terms that would benefit Putin rather than Ukraine. Some US commentators have argued that the US is shaping up to being on the wrong side of World War Three. 4. Silence on the Evils of Putin Trump and Vance refused to acknowledge or condemn Putin’s aggression, sidestepping any criticism of his actions while accusing Zelensky instead. 5. Intolerance of Anyone Else’s Opinions They shut down opposing views, making it clear that only their perspective mattered, leaving no room for meaningful discussion. America is a great nation with a proud history. This is a shameful episode.

@trot_twit Thank you for watching and for your comments. It is rather depressing the number of times I hear my story is also someone else's story too. I continue to hope that the more it's shared, the more people begin to recognise it before the damage is done.

At today’s date, the “Statement about David Fletcher” (updated 7 Feb. 2025) on @StEbbesChurch website includes this: “Since 2017…St Ebbes received reports from 2 women about him [DF] having been inappropriately tactile with them.” 1/

@JonathanServus @StEbbesChurch "One after another... each one has an impact". No. No. No. It isn't repeated singular 'bad apples'. It is the whole culture, from which the preacher is in no way separate. Some of us have spent many years, at great cost, saying just that.

As part of my role with Cornerstone Safeguarding I'm focused on helping people develop into safe leaders. Safe Leaders are people who are able to lead others with a human centric approach, remembering the dignity of those they lead even during difficult conversations or conflict.
