I spent 34 years in the Army - front line service in Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan etc. Not once would I have thought it acceptable to be filmed with detainees in this sort of scene. It’s unconscionable. Maybe not a huge deal but symptomatic of an IDF that has lost any morality.

This man asked you to let him answer. The longest you managed to remain quiet was a whopping 4 seconds. Rather than letting him answer you spent the entire interview shouting your own opinion of what he thought at him. Frankly you behaved like an overgrown toddler. When, after sturggling to get more than two words in edgeways for almost 10 minutes, he again politely asked you to do the courtesy of letting him answer, you yelled at him in a raised voice, “It’s not your show you can’t just talk forever”… Piers, you didn’t even allow him to string a whole sentence together. If you honestly believed his views were abhorrent then why not let him hang himself by his own words? Why relentlessly shout what you wanted his views to be over the top of him? Is it because you weren’t actually there to interview him, but rather to ensure that we don’t get to hear his actual opinions presented in his own words? I’d have liked for him to be given a chance to explain what his position was, so that we could have made up our own minds as to whether it was reasonable or not. Thanks to you I’m none the wiser, because watching someone being bullied for 10 minutes isn’t particularly informative. All I learned from that interview, is what you’d like us to believe he thinks, and I’m left wondering why you don’t want the viewers to have the opportunity make their own minds up? We don’t need to hear your views of what other people supposedly think. You may as well have interviewed a cardboard cut out of him.
