@signal2prompt @ThoNg676733 Anyone who could write Life Line, The Moonbeam Song as well as Coconut is nothing short of a genius in my book! ❤️ All that talent and such an amazing voice as well! 👏👏👏

@oolongschnapps @ThoNg676733 Yes! Learning how he used the studio as a meta-musical instrument of sorts by vocal overdubbing as a solo artist is one of the main things that sticks with me after watching. How inventive and creative he was ❤️

He's been dead since 1994, but that song will live on for decades more. It was iconic. RIP Harry.

@YesterdaysBrit1 @TickleTexts My Nan and grandad had theirs screwed down on the windowsill next to the TV. Can’t remember what channels or stations the letters corresponded to, but it was over 50 years ago now! 😊

Great question, I really enjoy answering these kinds of questions ... so , both Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin lifted off from the lunar surface in a small spacecraft called the Lunar Module, using its ascent engine to rendezvous (meet up) with Michael Collins(remember the astronaut who remained in orbit) in the Command Module. and here’s where it gets interesting: you see the Lunar Module had two parts; the descent stage, which remained on the Moon and the Ascent stage, the top half that blasted off from the lunar surface. so basically, when they wanted to depart from the lunar surface, they simply launched off the descent stage, leaving it behind on the Moon. In addition, as a clarification, the ascent stage that left the Moon had its own engine, and since the Moon has no atmosphere (meaning zero air resistance), it ignited and just shot upwards into lunar orbit, where Michael Collins continued circling the Moon. To meet Collins, our two astronauts had to enter lunar orbit at just the right altitude, match the speed and trajectory of the Command Module (a technique known as orbital rendezvous) and then use thrusters to slowly approach and carefully dock, thereafter, the ascent stage was jettisoned and left in lunar orbit. (attached is a clip on Apollo 17 leaving the lunar surface in December 1972)

@Astrophysicslad Unrelated; how did Armstrong and Aldrin launch from the moon to where collins was with the Colombia command module,

@NASAArtemis Naming lunar craters ‘Integrity’ and ‘Carroll’ is cute, but let’s be honest space exploration is turning into a vanity project for NASA and its crews. We’re spending billions orbiting and photographing the Moon while Earth is still struggling with climate crises, poverty.

The Artemis II crew captured this image showing the rings of the Orientale basin during their lunar flyby on April 6. At the 10 o’clock position of the Orientale basin, the two smaller craters – which the Artemis II crew has suggested be named Integrity & Carroll – are visible.

I’m sure there have been many changes in photography techniques and image technology since 1976 that might explain the difference between these photos, but why does 1976 look so much brighter and ‘clean’ compared to now? 🤔

“What’s that you’re reading?” “Karl Marx” “So you are a communist?” “Do I have to be a communist to read Karl Marx?” This scene is forever gold. The little boy completely destroys capitalism and the American political system.

@DurhamWASP Improvisational genius, that’s what he was! Jazz suited his musical style perfectly and Peter Cook suited his comedy style the same way. What was truly remarkable about Dud, was that he could also do it brilliantly as a solo artist! Awesome talent in one person. Sadly missed 😢

@Hot_Pepper76 My favourite song sung by Harry. Which is a tough pick when you think how many fantastic songs he sang and wrote. Also surprised to discover that he didn’t write this one, as it fits so well with his style. Never watched the whole movie, but I hear it’s a classic, like Harry!

"Everybody’s Talkin"(1968) I watched Midnight Cowboy last summer after finding out this song was tied to it, but the movie was not really for me. The song still stayed with me. Is this one of those songs you can love without caring about the movie?x.com/calmalgodown/s…
