Transparency is core to the ethos of the ZK community, so we wanted to share details about the distribution of our experimental NFT project โ which was recently distributed to the first 10,000 out of 179,365 eligible community members. The idea of the LIBERTAS OMNIBUS project is to experiment with NFT partners and prototype new kinds of collections with creators; but most importantly, for the community to have fun. In order to identify the recipients, the eligibility criterion was to have an address that interacted with at least one of the top 100+ zkSync NFT collections. All 179,365 recipients were then programmatically generated strictly based on the eligibility criterion above. The list was then alphabetically sorted to prepare for batched distribution. Because of the sorting, most of the addresses in the first batch started with 0x0. Due to the automated selection, the list of 179,365 was random to us. However, we acknowledge it was inaccurate to use the word โrandomโ to describe the initial distribution batch. We apologize for creating confusion, and want to thank the community members that flagged the issue ๐. These are valuable learning moments as we experiment with partners, and weโll aim to keep doing better. Now the good news โ we will restart the distribution of the LIBERTAS OMNIBUS project over the coming days and weeks, as well as test IRL minting at @EthCC in Paris this week.
