«Then, as they listened to the Simorgh’s words, A trembling dissolution filled the birds The substance of their being was undone, And they were lost like shade before the sun; Neither the pilgrims nor their guide remained. The Simorgh ceased to speak, and silence reigned.»

@CircuitCorroder @LottaFrau91910 @ShitpostRock2 It did. The Easter bunny is a US concept derived from the Dutch and German Protestant immigrants' Easter Hare. The Easter bunny is just too modern to be Pagan Do you see anyone worshipping the easter bunny? It's not a religious symbol. It's just Protestant folklore

@outrage70 @ShitpostRock2 Or how about we skip the secondhand knowledge and deliberately obfuscated manipulation to cut straight to the source 😄

@RemigijusAndAI @ShitpostRock2 If I ask you for any evidence confirming your view, you will provide either pixelated memes, blogposts, or just say the same thing with "sass". Again. Everything you posted is wrong and a myth. No scholar holds them to be true, because they are not

@LottaFrau91910 @ShitpostRock2 Does that mean it's Pagan? The Easter rabbit developed in the United States through Dutch immigrants' Easter Hare. This developed in Germany around the end of the Middle Ages. Paganism was long dead before the tradition of the Easter Rabbit emerged.

@outrage70 @ShitpostRock2 the bunny laying eggs thing is clearly not Christian though. And it has nothing to do with the actual holiday of Easter (the resurrection of Christ).

@ShitpostRock2 Attis: born from a virgin, died on Easter, resurrected after 3 days. Horus: born from a virgin on Christmas. Osiris: died and resurrected. Inanna: died and resurrected after 3 days. Adonis: died and resurrected on Easter.

@ShitpostRock2 Ostara was indeed a thing for millenia before a certain group of people created every current major Abrahamic religion within the same several-hundred-year period. Jesus was a real historical figure, who tried to spread the Cult of Tiamat - to partial success.

@DJh4to @ShitpostRock2 Not to mention, excluding the New Testament accounts is absolutely foolish and inconsistent with how all other history is approached

@DJh4to @ShitpostRock2 Historically-speaking, that is an immense amount of evidence and more than enough to make conclusive statements that: a Jesus of Nazareth, who was called the Christ, existed; had disciples; was baptised by John the Baptist; and was crucified under Pontius Pilate

@ArtsyMarx1st Poorly catechised pseudo-intellectual child Googles "did Jesus write anything?", sees the answer is "no" , watches the Da Vinci Code movie once (1ce), and then leaves Christianity. Many such cases!

posts like this are funny cuz sure, but jesus wasnt a real guy. theres no evidence beyond anecdotal that he was real, and most details of his life are borrowed from other religions. so its like a bunch of ppl arguing over what hercules looked like.

Just a reminder for Christian's celebrating Easter this week. Jesus looked like the guy in the first picture - not the second.

Since SSDs are pretty much the same price as HDDs these days, should we go for an all SSD NAS system?

@CEOofFuggy @Techjunkie_Aman AI is OK, but still regularly struggles with fairly simple stuff in the sysadmin domain. Often, it's easier to just read the documentation yourself to figure out issues and actually learn what to do. For every instant success, there are plenty more hour+ back-and-forths with AI

@Techjunkie_Aman Might have to try it again now that AI is likely good enough to help me understand most errors, ended up getting it working last time with it all optimized etc. But eventually broke and I either couldn't figure out why or it was annoying as hell

Most Linux distros give you a system. Gentoo gives you control. • Everything built from source (no prebuilt binaries) • Optimized for YOUR CPU (compile-time tuning) • USE flags control features + dependencies • No bloat (install only what you need) • Rolling release (no versions, just updates) Powered by Portage: • 19k+ packages • Fine-grained install control • System-wide or per-package customization What makes it different: • No fixed editions (you define everything) • No forced defaults or preconfigured stacks • Choice of init system (OpenRC default, systemd optional) • Other distros ship binaries — Gentoo builds them It’s called a meta-distribution. Because you don’t install Gentoo. You build exactly the system you want.
