At Los Alamos Oppenheimer put Richard Feynman in charge of trouble shooting the various subsidiary plants. Feynman was only 26 at the time but everyone thought that maybe he was a genius. (Later he got the Nobel Prize in physics.) Here's his funny story of a visit to Oak Ridge:
