Where do you see the most potential in the fenestration sector over the next five years:

@glazingblogger Using AI would allow this to be done without a marker, and would instead rely on physical queues and camera metadata instead. At that point though, I wonder if it would be any more accurate than counting bricks!

@glazingblogger “being able to point a phone at the aperture and have the phone spit back the dimensions” - this can already be done accurately using a fudicial marker like an ArUco tag.

How long ago did flush casement PVCu windows land in the market?

@glazingblogger @InsightData As for large scale renovation of existing properties, this is more down to the architecture itself. I imagine you guys do a decent amount of timber alternative into these types of property also?

@glazingblogger @InsightData I have no doubt that a very high percentage of people doing self builds wouldn’t touch uPVC. 20+ years of Grand Designs proves that! 😂 But what percentage of the total annual spend on UK fenestration is accounted for by these guys?

If you're a solely PVCu fabricator or systems company would you be worried about the strength of the residential aluminium market? How long will this surge last and will it start to chip away at the dominance of PVCu in the residential market?

@glazingblogger @InsightData All good thanks Jason - hope the family are well :) Nearly all of our customers offer products in both materials. Certain products are hands-down better suited to aluminium (bi-fold doors, triple track sliders, lantern roofs), but residential windows aren’t the one of them imho…

@patrickfirmager perhaps one for @InsightData? I know you're fully PVCu so will defend that part of the market. From where I'm looking, using my own experience and what installers are telling me about both sides of the market there is some serious strength in ali. Hope you're well Patrick!

If U-Values are going to drop to 0.9 by 2025 for new-builds, how does our industry get there? Does this revive triple glazing? Or does the sector improve on double glazing further? Or, do products like vacuum insulated glass become the preferred choice?
