Word going around is that the Cody Rhodes promo on SmackDown after the tag match wasn’t originally planned and wasn’t even listed on the internal rundown. Reports from PWInsider and BodySlam say he was told to go out there later in the show and cut a shoot promo where he let out real frustrations about TKO interfering in his storyline. If that’s true, it adds a whole new layer to what he said. He straight up told Pat McAfee, and anyone backing him, to kiss his ass. And with all the talk about TKO pushing McAfee into this storyline, it definitely felt like Cody was taking shots at the higher brass. "What are going to do? Fire me!? It surely worked out well for you the last time..." That just makes the segment even crazier. How do you all feel about it? Does it hit differently knowing that context?
