Tech lost 6 senior to eligibility on top of 4 players to the portal. That puts their number at 15 spots. They have 5 freshman coming in and 5 transfers. That is 25 spots. Another spot is potentially opening up as well.

This puts them over the scholarship players limit of 25. So for those keeping track, tech is buying players and telling their new recruits to find a different team…. That’s certainly a choice. Why recruit when you can buy them. Typical of tech.

@pickdegen @zylerbuchanan That ignores my biggest personal issue. Some teams gotta play 7 top 20 teams, some play zero, and total loses is how everything gets decided. Some teams can rest guys the last week. Others will be a mash unit lucky to have their QB.

@worxerrtime @zylerbuchanan The solution there is adjusting the start time of the season, eliminating the two week between the end of the season and the playoff, and keeping the playoff at 16. Regional matchups aren’t going to get better with the super league.

We lost too many regional matchups. 24 teams is too many to really work with school. Too much disparity in paths to the CFP. P2 too big to function crowning champs

I think 46-34 at IW and UNT is more impressive than 20-7 in an OU/TX-less Big 12 with two losses in only two non conference games of significance.

An important update: In a revised version of the Protect College Sports Act released Monday, the "applicability" section no longer preempts or overrides pending eligibility cases, such as Chambliss' injunction.
It now only covers those pending cases related to sports wagering.

Presumably, an athlete who received an injunction for additional eligibility and whose case remains pending - ie: QB Trinidad Chambliss - would have their eligibility at risk if the bill, as currently written, becomes law. There is, however, a long way to go for that to happen.
