The forthcoming UK government budget is likely to hammer rural communities in many areas. We need our rural communities to come together and galvanise against the cost of rural living - motorists, fishing, farming, haulage, independent retail, supply chains and small businesses.

I always think of one woman, when gymnastics is on, now 18 years since she died aged 46. One of the most talented gymnasts and courageous persons; she was a member of the Olympic Order, despite never competing at the Olympics. Her name was Elena Mukhina, one of my heroes. /1

@SarahScb @Bob_Fischer @TibsGTE My dad's credit card was blocked due to a fraud marker. He had to fill in an online form to unblock his card. He couldn't do it. We phoned. They directed us to another form which had irrelevant tick boxes. After 4 hours, I rang and cancelled his account. (I manage websites...!)

My dad is pretty good internet wise, but they are very cautious about banking apps, though all branches have closed, and they don’t travel into Bristol anymore because they worry that they’ll need a parking app. Older people are being marginalised

Just spent 30 mins in my GP's waiting room, overhearing a string of upset, baffled older people protesting that they couldn't download the app, follow the link etc. The speed with with companies and businesses have pursued merciless digital exclusion absolutely boils my piss.
