Mayor’s Office. I used to be interesting here, but now I’m not. Then again, this used to be an interesting place, and now…(gestures wildly with his hands)

@MattCundill Well, you were paying less city taxes than any other major city in Canada.

The data is clear: Winnipeg is a national leader in affordability. 🔌 2nd-lowest electricity 🏠 3rd-lowest home prices 🚌 6th-lowest transit fares of 20 cities ⛽️ 3rd-lowest gas prices And not mentioned...the lowest municipal property taxes in Canada. cbc.ca/news/canada/af…

@WPGMurat 100% the draft. It’s the most viable path away from having this exact same debate every year.

Should the Jets try to make playoffs or embrace the draft? Held a debate with myself — and one Murat ended up getting kind of mean about the whole thing 🤷🏻‍♂️ ⤵️ nytimes.com/athletic/71264…

@MattCundill Tax burden relative to home value is a pointless stat. It costs roughly the same to pave a road, hire a police officer, buy a bus, or build a fire hall. Cities don’t get a discount on costs if property values are lower. That’s why cities make comparisons using actual taxes paid.

@jonismrnibs @ChrisDca No. Two new contracts with external companies, running to 2032, are currently making their way through the committee/Council approval process. One of the contracts would switch to a different company, so people might be getting confused about that.

@scottcwheeler I have to imagine he’ll have an even higher ranking in Winnipeg’s prospect pool.

Isak Rosen, acquired by the Jets, was my No. 4 Sabres prospect in my upcoming prospect pool rankings. He’s a quick, knifing winger with an NHL release who risked becoming a bit of a AAAAer in Buffalo. Will have more of an opportunity in Winnipeg to become 20-goal PP2 type.

@ScottBilleck April 2022 wins over this. Schools were preemptively closed for two days, a Jets game was rescheduled in preparation for “the worst blizzard in decades.” In the end, there was some snow but it was no big deal.

@KevinKleinwpg The entire premise of this column is false. Re-assessment doesn't raise any additional revenue for the city. It just determines each property's share of the overall tax bill. Someone's share goes up, someone else's share goes down.

Gemini 3 just dropped yesterday… and if you run ecom, you better lock the f*ck in. I’ve spent the last 5 months testing every major AI model for ecom Claude Sonnet 4.5 GPT-5 DeepSeek R1 Higgsfield All killers. All useful. But Gemini 3? It’s a complete shift in how ecom brands will operate. Here’s what I saw in the first 48 hours: → It identifies winning ad angles in seconds (shit that used to take agencies weeks) → It breaks down competitor funnels with scary accuracy → It rewrites hooks in your brand voice without losing tension → It builds offer variations that actually convert, not generic template trash → It generates new creative concepts faster than you can test them This isn’t “AI that helps.” This is “AI that replaces 3 people on your team without blinking.” I ran it through 150+ creative tests, 12 funnels, and 40+ product angles. The results were insane: 5 new creative concepts that hit above 1.7 ROAS on cold CPC dropped 22% on two of my testing campaigns It found competitor patterns inside Gethookd that I didn’t even see It generated STATIC ads that looked handcrafted — not AI-goo It gave me 20 hooks from one single winning angle (no more blank page syndrome) And here’s the part nobody is ready for: Your competitors who adopt Gemini 3 early will scale faster than you can react. Not because they're smarter… But because their creative volume just multiplied overnight. Ecom is a speed game. If you’re still: launching 3 creatives a week guessing angles manually analyzing competitors spending days writing scripts relying on outdated product research methods …you’re gonna get buried by brands using Gemini to pump out: 50 creatives a week 6–8 new angles every Monday daily funnel audits real-time offer iteration instant competitor teardown This is the “GEM” moment for ecom — the same way Meta’s GEM update punished slow advertisers, Gemini 3 is about to punish slow operators. If you want to stay relevant in 2025 ecom: Start using AI as your creative engine Build systems around it Scale faster than your competitors can blink And if you want the exact Gemini prompts I’m using to generate high-performing angles, hooks, scripts, and PDP upgrades: Connect with me Comment “GEMINI" and I'll send it over.

@Cappy204 @ScottGillingham The city has zero authority over school taxes. Those are decisions made by school divisions and the province.

Think Winnipeg’s property taxes are high compared to other big cities? Think again. Winnipeg homeowners actually pay the lowest municipal property taxes in Canada on a typical home. I'll keep breaking down the numbers ahead of the November 14 city budget.

@rockiedogg @ScottGillingham The twisting of the truth is amazing. The new mayor of nyc ditto free transit except mta is run by the state. Rent controls the state. Income taxes the state and feds. Point is these folks never tell the truth

One of my biggest pet peeves downtown: trash on the sidewalk and garbage bins sitting wide open. We’re fixing that. ♻️ 121 new lockable bins are being installed along Portage Ave and Main St. Cleaner streets, less mess — and if they work well, we’ll look to add more.

@ScottGillingham Mr. Mayor, these are nominal amounts, It would be super interesting if you present data as a % of average household income, for example.
