I looked up Solicitor Gipson's campaign donations from 2018. Check out the first report I found. Lots of familiar names and.... defense attorneys. Honest question: Isn't it problematic that defense attorneys can openly donate to solicitor's campaigns? Or am I crazy?

The second dataset includes all publicly available* itemized direct contribution to a candidate running for local prosecutor during the years 2014-2019.
(*some jurisdictions had lost or destroyed their records)

The first dataset adds two new years of data to our national study of prosecutor elections. Overall, it shows that the vast majority of prosecutor elections continue to be uncontested. The exception to that pattern is in the districts with populations of more than 1 million.
