@ItsDeanBlundell I miss nuanced conversations overall - too much tribalism and absolutes in the world today...wish more would engage in discussion and learning vs. being so dug in all the time.

I spent the past few days watching and listening to a variety of Charlie Kirk content. Intentionally. While he will always be remembered for his dog whistling, racialized and demeaning statements about black women, and violent rhetoric about shooting migrants, I think he was also starting to grow into a crisis of conscience. Yes, he challenged the status quo, and yes, he appeared to be more welcoming of members of the LGBTQ/Migrant communities. Still, there was also a more measured and empathetic approach to communicating across ideology and perspective (who knows if that's why he was killed). We'll never know if Charlie's views were evolving because he was tragically and senslessly murdered. And if one thing stands out to me today, I think he would be fucking apalled at what Trump is doing to Americans and free speech in his name.
