"Today I faced 😭 a heartbreaking situation… A small, thin, and very sick kitten entered my tent, looking for food. I had my last bottle of milk for my child, yet I didn't hesitate for a moment and gave it to her. 💔🐾 Now I need your help to buy milk for her and my child, so that neither of them suffers from hunger. Every donation, no matter how small, saves a life and plants compassion in our hearts. 🙏🍼 Help us give life to those who need it…" chuffed.org/project/154635…

Saw these cool quilts yesterday. Inmates at Angola started a prisoner-run hospice program for those with life sentences. They started selling quilts to support it, which became an artistic outlet. Leonard Peltier and Mumia took part when the program spread to other prisons.

I wonder whether this is because the "ambitious" and the "academic" students aren't the same. Academic students still read, ambitious ones don't. What has changed is that you can now get a First without reading, and ambitious students therefore spend their time on other things.
James Marriott@j_amesmarriott

Agree. Some of the most depressing statistics trace the collapse of reading among ambitious students. The most academic kids used to read much more than their peers. Now there isn't really a difference. Everyone is just scrolling.

Learn to graciously accept the thanks for doing the bare minimum anyone who claims to love them should’ve been doing. We are asking people become human sometimes for the first time in their adult lives, instead of this mass consumerist idea of personhood instilled in us by the

Masses who are just waiting for you to come save them. Instead you must learn to walk in their shoes, sometimes you might even need to help them walk, sometimes you might be the only reason they /only/ lost their legs after not being able to afford diabetes. And then you must

Relation building becomes an extremely important aspect of organizing as it demands the organizers actually build a relationship with the people beyond email lists and pointless and toothless picketing. It demands you actually see people as full people instead of hypothetical

A running theme over the years — the RSF is not an alternative choice of Sudanese statehood, but rather the harbinger of its decimation. Case in point: the destruction of all agricultural activities in their wake. theguardian.com/global-develop…

cartel -- a meeting place of ideologically-incoherent and economically-parasitic militias -- with no capacity for social governance or political acumen, i.e. it is incapable of waging hegemony, regardless of its pending success in the war against the SAF. This has been reflected

A serious case for socialism in 2026 is not that it optimizes everything at once. It is that it shifts the hierarchy of values: maybe less of x, but more of y. Eg. less output, more free time, less domination; in brief, a different conception of what matters for social life.

If you say socialism would be superior to capitalism "in every single possible way", you've already lost because you're still letting capitalism define success. And if you defend marketless socialism, good luck proving it wins on productivity, "living standards", etc.
tadano! 🪄@x00ge_ii63

Lenin will always be fundamentally right that for socialism to exist, it must be superior in every single possible way to capitalism, qualitatively, quantitatively, scientifically, better at production, better at life standards, in de-commodifying and destroying class relations

If there isn't a supercessionary sequence here, but only radiative proliferation of subsistence psychologies, then read "Nobody wants to work" as "we no longer have enough ancestral work-psyches to maintain important parts of the system" rather than mere boomerism for all ages

This seems completely wrong to me. Every advanced industrial economy has as a physical base a huge network of tiny shops that were never consolidated and never brought under anything resembling a F500 management regime. Academia has been totally derelict in investigating this
