Eventually, that character starts to lose a lot of the charming little details that you liked about the design. Like, maybe they changed Spider-Man's chest logo, or something. Now imagine you tweet out that you observed the change and don't like the change.

Imagine for a second that you're a passionate individual who has grown up as a fan of a character, and so you appreciate the finer intricacies of a clever design. Then imagine you've grown up and watched that character change over the years.
