Even those who doubt or deny the existence of God acknowledge there is an undeniable force of evil present in this world. Unrestrained evil is the enemy of all free societies. Only God’s truth keeps us free.
“Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people” (Phil. 2:14-15, NLT).
“But when grace is shown to the wicked, they do not learn righteousness; even in a land of uprightness they go on doing evil and do not regard the majesty of the LORD” (Is. 26:10, NIV).
Relativism in our society today purposely blurs the distinctions between good and evil. Horrific actions, however, snap us to attention and bring into stark focus the great chasm between right and wrong, righteous and wickedness, good and evil.
Every believer needs to stand boldly, suited up in the armor of God, resisting evil’s influence on every front. Evil can only be defeated with wisdom from God. If you feel anxious or afraid, remember: “The Lord himself watches over you!”
We cannot continue moving away from the shelter of God’s Word or allow the walls of truth to be dismantled. To stand firm again, we must restore the foundation our founders relied on: Divine Providence.
The eternal purpose of God is to make a kingdom impact on all creation and in the spiritual realm. The stage is set. The whole world can see how ugly the deceiver is. It is time for the world groping in darkness to behold the glory of the resurrected Lord and the Lamb!
Jesus is forever alive and wants to live His resurrected life through us. Death and the grave could not conquer or hold our Lord, and it cannot hold us in its dreadful grip. We can all experience the reality of resurrection life in Christ. To God be the glory forever!
I am so thankful for that merciful moment when Jesus died 2,000 years ago. Today, people around the world will celebrate the resurrection of Christ on that first Easter morning. Because of His matchless gift, we can experience the triumphant life He freely offers. Happy Easter!
“Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, ‘Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour has come, and the Son of Man is delivered into the hands of sinners’” (Matt. 26:45, NIV).
Jesus died that we may live. He paid the price and shouldered the entire load of all our sins. This day is referred to as “Good Friday,” but it's truly better than good. Jesus, the mediator between God and man, made it possible for us to experience abundant life now and forever.
May you have the power to understand, how wide, how long, how high and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
We must not fear evil; we must face it. Our nation needs God-given insight, power, protection, direction and wisdom. There is no quick solution to the challenges we face. Only those who are strong, principled and willing to sacrifice will endure and overcome.
We must run to the hedge of protection offered by God’s eternal Word and stop allowing principled walls of absolute truth to be worn down. Our nation’s foundation must be restored if we expect to stand safely and protect freedom.
“Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey” (Zech. 9:9, NIV).
“When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the LORD will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared” (Prov. 3:24-26, NIV).
As the prophet Haggai implored the people, “Surely it is time to consider our ways!” While seeking protection from evil all around us, we must diligently seek God’s divine enabling to recognize it in our own hearts and turn away from it.
The Bible says we are to pray for those in authority “that we may live peaceful and quiet lives.” Pray with me that God in His mercy will protect our nation while we diligently seek to restore freedom’s foundation.
