No Kpop Idol (group or soloist) has more hourly Perfect All-Kills than her. More than 2 MONTHS of being the #1 song on Melon TOP100. More than 4 MONTHS in the TOP5 on Melon TOP100. More than 6 MONTHS in the TOP10 on Melon TOP100. The ONLY female Kpop soloists that achieved these things! Peaking at #32 on Billboard Global 200 without any collab or American promo and charting for 8 weeks on one of the 3 main Billboard charts. So, shut up and stop using her to fight about your stupid fandom wars.

I feel bad for bts man cause all their hard work always gets made a group project. all of these groups always benefiting from bts’ success they can’t even have shit to themselves and then kpop fans have the audacity to say that bts didn’t pave the way….

@Mess_Cheese @pomonawest @taeslawyer @PopBase @ffffvckyoualll The difference is Afro and Latin music are actual genres with distinct sonic roots. "Asian Pop" isn't a musical genre, Pop is the genre. By that logic, we should have a "European Pop" or "North American Pop" category, but we don't. It's just segregation based on location.

The Grammys are literally turning into Inkigayo at this point. 😭 Treating the most prestigious global music award like a weekly idol broadcast just to chase fandom engagement and gatekeep Asian artists from the main big categories is so cheap. #BTS #grammy #kpop

Meanwhile, the Grammys claim to be the global standard but use hyper-specific subcategories to gatekeep non-Western artists from the main big categories.

I can’t think of any kpop group other than bts who deserve to get nominated in asian pop category so the other nominees better be jpop or cpop or indopop or indian and arab music

the timing of a new “asian pop” category while a major asian act is having one of the most successful albums globally really exposes the problem: it’s segregation and not inclusion. when non western artists are still underrepresented in major categories, it doesn’t feel like recognition for the asian music market, but containment. they deserve to win, but they cannot, so let’s give them a candy that excludes them a bit further. at least it looks pretty, right? it’s unfortunate how the “how are you so shameless” line from aliens always hits.
