This is a horrible take. I really should get off this app and do productive things, but in undergrad I was volunteering, working in a lab and sometimes two labs, I was doing research and taking some of the hardest classes I have taken, all while drowning in debt and mental health

@GarethLuTheryn This mini thread is a current mood. Currently finishing off my masters, and hoping to go on to a PhD at some point. Started off this year thinking I was too dumb for academia, but healthily shifted that mind-set because I know I'm good enough and it's what I love 🙌

Remember if you're worried about what to do next, scared that you're not good enough or unqualified. My PhD started an email to say I was unsuitable, but excited by the research topic. Now I have to remind people I'm not an engineer on a regular basis 🙃

I cried when they said I'd fail biology A-level. Cried as the 1st Gen going to university. Cried when my MSc funding almost fell through. Cried when I got that MSc with Distinction. Cried when I got a PhD offer. Cried after my PhD viva. Now smile - BSc 2016, MSc 2017 , PhD 2020.
