Issues with the writing in "TADC" et al doesn't really seem like "they only watch Children's Shows" it just kind of seems like regular amateur writing to me. If I see a drawing with really bad anatomy I'm not gonna be like "LMAO it's cuz the artist only referenced Peppa Pig"

I think it's just bc they're made by talented visual artists who have not put as much time or effort into their writing either because they don't respect the skill that goes into writing or they simply don't know enough about writing to realize they don't know a lot about writing

@milcery if someone is making youtube videos where they don't show their face/body then advice like "the audience needs to be able to see your full expression" and stuff reliant on the person being in physical space in front of a crowd isn't necessarily applicable. is what i mean

@romanceflag @misswhynowhy i mean all speaking is live speaking. if someone is looking to excise filler words and they aren't doing 100% improv then the fundamentals of literally how to read a script gives them more control about what they say, how they say it, and why they say it the way they do

@milcery @misswhynowhy i mean this person is talking about youtube. i'm just applying some principles of live speaking to it because it makes asynchronous speech a lot easier if you have the basics of that down. but i feel like live speech tactics arent productive to suggest wholesale in this context w

@milcery @misswhynowhy my friend i obviously was not suggesting that when you give a speech you be staring directly at your notes in plain sight. but obviously you're a lot more likely to use filler words if you're trying to completely recall information from your head without using notes at all

@romanceflag @misswhynowhy (puts my hand up) the "correct" way to read from a script in front of an audience is to hold it with both hands at an angle that does not obscure your mouth. only glance at the script at the end of sentences and do not look up again until after you've started the next one
