Anthony: um.. so my fiance and I recently got engaged last August and we've been fighting about the cost of it. I told her I wanted to pay off my debt before we tried to pay off a big wedding I just recently paid off my debt this month and with the wedding she wants, I can't afford it with only being 6 months away. Dave: what's the price tag? Anthony: $16,000, uhm the price tag is $20,000 but she has paid about $4,000 so there is $16,000 left. Dave: what do you make? Anthony: uh... about $30-40k a year Dave: okay....what does she make? Anthony: about the same, we're both in the military. I was telling her that I don't feel comfortable going back in debt, uh... I have asked her to move it back but she said " if the wedding doesn't happened when it's scheduled , there's no reason for us to continue" Rachel: well the surface problem is that she's choosing a wedding over you Dave: a $16,000 wedding is not too much, you're wrong. That's a reasonably priced wedding What do you think? I think Dave is right
