@sf433 @OCLC The WC Discovery interface replaces the display of the subject heading - it seems to me that people who want to disrupt access to materials would remove them from the library and not bother with the headings but that's just my take on it.

Last week while I was in Ohio I had the opportunity to see this new feature in WordlCat Discovery that helps support librarians in urgent work, which is protecting patrons from harm in discovery. You can check out the thread below but I'm going to have a thread of my own here.

@MerrileeIAm @OCLC Thanks for the clarification. It’s hard to imagine a perfect solution. As you said, bad actors will act bad within any workflow.

@sf433 @OCLC Sorry "we prepared for that" referred to a negative response to the Reimagine Descriptive Workflows project. I know a few of us were nervous about a backlash because that is the environment we are in.

@MerrileeIAm @OCLC Can you say more about “And we are prepared for that.”? Curious what might be possible in this context to respond to bad actors. Full disclosure, We have similar features in our local discovery environment. We won’t get it perfect every time, but I trust our intentions are good.

Some of the responses I have seen point out that this could be "weaponized" - yes, this is true, But frankly any of our workflows could be. In developing the RDW project we had to grapple with the potential that the project could be used against us. And we prepared for that.

Is there such thing as a good office chair? I have a standing desk, but want a decent chair. My new job will help pay and I'm willing to shell out a bit because it's how I spend my days. Any suggestions? @embryosophy specifically interested in any thoughts you have?

@timathom @CapitalOne Wow, Tim! I’ve been consistently impressed with your work over the years. A big loss for libraries, but I hope you enjoy the new domain to bring your talents to. An aside, my 11 YO would love the slogan to change. “What’s in your wallet? sounds like they’re trying to rob you.”

Question for Activity Streams implementers… would you ever use two Activity types on the same Activity? E.g. Deprecate and Split for a SKOS Concept that is being deprecated and split into two or more other concepts?
