A new rowing league. Have had this idea percolating away for a while and decided that now’s the time. Ten regional and two tideway finales - win points for your club by finishing in the top 50 men or women. (Top 100 at @WEHORR or @EightsHead ) winterrowingleague.com

Some questions: Q: Why men only at NE Head? A: It’s after WEHORR. Q: Why only these events? A: I tried to spread the events as far and wide as I can but also keep the admin manageable Q: Do we need to do anything to enter? A: Other than enter the races, no.

Up this weekend is Rutherford @Tyne_Rowing and University of Bristol Head @UoBBoatClub (sadly Wallingford is cancelled) It’s not a perfect system but I hope that it’s fun, engaging and makes the winter racing a little bit more interesting than it currently is!
