Spent the last couple of days in Akure watching the secondary school competition hosted by Johnvents, and it reminded me just how deep the grassroots football talent pool is in Ondo State. I am using this moment to highlight two absolute gems who completely stood out from the crowd. First is 13-year-old Adams Stephen from Igoba Secondary School. Mark my words, this boy is hands down the best young goalkeeper in all of Ondo State right now. He put on an absolute masterclass between the posts and rightfully walked away with two individual awards. His composure, positioning, and reflexes are well beyond his years only problem is his height but for his age, he’d still grow taller. And if he doesn’t, he’d be like Barthez or Pickford. Second is Okoro from Aquinas. If you want to talk about pure, electrifying pace, this kid is it. He is comfortably the fastest 14-year-old player I have watched in a very long time. His ability to leave defenders in the dust is a nightmare for opposition backlines. Both of these boys possess rare, special talent. I have already initiated talks with several football clubs within Ondo State because players of this caliber deserve to be in a structured system that guarantees their professional growth. To the local teams in Ondo State: don't sleep on this two talent. And If things don't materialize here quickly in Ondo, the next stop is taking both talents to Lagos. E no go hard me to get them some other in Lagos. You will definitely see both of them signing for major Lagos-based clubs very soon. ⚽
