Kudos to @PoliceNG
Yesterday, I encountered some unprofessional officers along the Gbongan-Osogbo road . After thoroughly checking my documents and searching my vehicle, they found nothing incriminating. One of the officers then shifted his attention to the allocation of my plate number and kept asking what offense I had committed for it not to be included in my documents.
When he couldnโt provide a clear explanation, he insisted that I follow him to station. After several minutes, I decided had waited longer enough and came here on X to get the complaint number of @PoliceNG_CRU . The officer I spoke with asked me to hand the phone the officer at the checkpoint and he immediately instructed him to return my documents.
Interestingly, the same officers who had been shouting at me and threatening (this particular on was even taking colos) that will regret my actions suddenly became friendly. I collected my documents and continue my journey.
I want to use this opportunity to appreciate the good work of Nigeria Police Force , especially the Police complaint Response unit . The police are truly our friends. Not all officers are bad eggs, and good officers deserve recognition for their professionalism and prompt intervention .
Thank you, @PoliceNG and @PoliceNG_CRU

UPDATE ON THE CASE REGARDING THE DETENTION OF 6 NIGERIAN BOYS IN CรTE D'IVOIRE.
I had a meeting yesterday with the Ambassador of Cรดte DโIvoire H E Kalilou Traore to demand an explanation from the Ivorian authorities over the circumstances that led to the detention of 6 young Nigerian traders, and the death of one of them, Usama Murtala, after incarceration in MACA prison, Abidjan.
Following their detention without charge or trial, they were recently released after diplomatic interventions by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and sustained engagements by our Embassy in Cรดte d'Ivoire.
We requested to know why the Nigerian Embassy in Cรดte dโIvoire was not informed of their arrest and detention, which delayed the necessary diplomatic intervention that might have saved the life of the deceased.
These young men on a trading trip could not communicate effectively due to language barriers, and did not have access to legal representation in the French-speaking country.
We called for a full scale investigation and transparent probe by the Ivorian government into this matter.
We are also demanding compensation for the family of Usama Murtala, who died shortly after his release due to the harsh prison conditions and inadequate healthcare whilst in custody.
We also demand that the seized phones, money and other property of the traders, which were not handed back to them after their release be returned to them
We want an undertaking from the Ivorian Authorities, that going forward, they will promptly communicate any arrests or detention of our Nationals to the Nigerian Embassy for necessary action, and treat Nigerian nationals in their country with dignity.
Responding, the Ivorian envoy expressed most profound Apologies and condolences to the family of the deceased Nigerian and also to the Federal Republic of Nigeria for this unfortunate incident. He stated that it was indeed regrettable.
Ambassador Traore pledged to communicate the outcomes of the meeting and the concerns and demands of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the authorities in Abidjan as soon as possible.
The Government of Nigeria will keep pushing for justice in this matter for the families concerned.

Seun: Are you saying that Femi Gbajabiamila knows about your appointment?
Adeniyi Adeyemi: Yes
Seun: You also got the appointment to that agency through Femi Gbajabiamila?
Adeniyi Adeyemi: Yes
Seun: The witness to your arrangement with Gbajabiamila is reported to be dead. Is the death link to this appointment?
Adeniyi Adeyemi: Let the court vindicate all those things.
Nigerian Affairs Journal@NigAffairs
Seun: How did you get an office in the federal secretariat? Have you met Femi Gbajabiamila? Adeniyi Adeyemi: All those ones will be sorted in court. I won't want to say much about it. Seun: Who was funding the salaries of the 300 staff? Was it coming from the federal government? Adeniyi Adeyemi: The truth will be unraveled.
