@AtobeOverlord Thank you for the advice!! I started using my arm to draw today and it reduced all the pain I had (found out my arm is weak as hell tho)! I usually pushed through the pain like an idiot, so I’ll take more breaks from now on— thank you again!! 🙌

@spicyaoki Start using your arm to draw instead and change your position as often as you can, variety is what is going to help. The moment you are in pain you need to stop unfortunately and take a break.

Genuine question: how do other artists deal with wrist pain? I’ve done exercises and got the big grips on my pens, but my wrist is dying on me more and more lately

@Yuri_Alias_ Thank you for the info! Learning to draw without the wrist was incredibly difficult for me in the past, but I’m starting to think I shouldn’t put it off any longer… I did buy some freeze gel based on your rec tho (I forgot that existed) thank you again!!

@spicyaoki Lots of discipline. Making sure to rest my wrists properly, I also use a wrist brace in day to day if it's in pain and soothe pain with freeze gel. There are lots of ways you can hold your pen differently too, and learning to draw from the shoulder and elbow instead of wrist

@onlythosethings It’s more achy and sore, but a doc did mention I probably have carpal tunnel (we didn’t test though) Based on the feedback I got, I probably need to wear my brace more often. It slows me down but I don’t think I can avoid it OTL Thank you for the info!!

@mirahiku me down a lot and the pain doesn’t always subside. I didn’t think about techniques I could use, so I’ll check that out too! 💥 I don’t think weather affects it for me? In general, limbs are always cold and can’t warm up well lol (2/3)

Tbh, my wrists are small, so if I need to start doing some serious weight training I’ll… try…. I wanted to see if anyone has an alt solution before I do that lol
