@Nexus36747195 well, squids in real life can change their colors with cells called chromatophores, so I imagine the same is true for inklings! it's not dye so much as it is them biologically changing color. it's fun to imagine, and I think it would have a big role in self expression for them.

@Nexus36747195 if you're talking about the color, well, no! the reason is that sugar doesn't *care* about being flirtatious or conventionally attractive. she would never put on a display for anyone's benefit other than herself. and she likes turquoise.

@jorknitfrfr oh totally. she never cared about sex even before she became so obsessed with food, but now she *super* doesn't care. she's genuinely more attracted to food than people.

I don't think I ever actually formally revealed this, but now's as good a time as any. happy asexual awareness day from sugar! she was asexual the whole time.

@Nexus36747195 thank you! I do too. long tentacles are a key part of sugar's character design, but I changed the turquoise secondary color to pink/deep red, because I think those would be seen as more conventionally attractive or flirtatious colors in inkling society

One of the hottest tropes I’ve seen is when a character stays huge after a sequence. Like they were always drawn skinny before, but now after just one sequence they’re canonically plus-sized forever Really makes those sequences/comics more impactful

@Redpotionlabs this was all done through face paint. the fattest "default" face shape is not nearly this large

this "something for a friend" was meant to be a quick warm up... I never learn my lesson Sugar clearly never learns hers either, as here she can be seen totally letting loose in front of two total strangers. One of them is more than happy to get to know her better, though...
