“Alantodu Malli tirigi vasthunnadante?” …Tirigi Vachadu! @PawanKalyan is back to where he belongs! While the euphoria surrounding the release was sky high, the packed crowds, OG OG chants and the theater turning into a concert made it even more special particularly the “washi o washi” lyrics being sung out while the demon slayer was in full form! Add to this @MusicThaman firestorm BGM and you are in for a ride!
A great experience in theater. Second watch on OTT, gave more weight to the intro scenes, given you know why there is certain build up by the end of the movie.

Japanese backstory and anime style edit
The first 10 mins of the movie set the tone. Kudos to @Sujeethsign for picking up the Japanese backstory that plays to #PowerStar strengths - Martial arts. Sujeeth blends in Aikido marital art , makes us believe that the katana is with its rightful owner and man PK aka OG slays in style. Shout out to the cinematographer @dop007 ,editor @NavinNooli and production design teams, especially the canopy intro scene where blood spills in an artistic way. The “washi o washi” scene works very well for the exact same reasons. This is the part I felt like wanting more and more. What did he do in Japan? Why did he get the name #OrochiGenshin
Emotional core
The second half steers away from the racy first half into the emotional backstory of OG. #SuvviSuvvi soundtrack sets the mood for the OG love story, it’s short and sweet, just right for this kind of film. @priyankaamohan excels in her role. The father-daughter emotion is well established too.
@sriyareddy dominates the screen in all her scenes particularly the one when police walk in to the port. It was refreshing to see her emotional side of acting as well with @iam_arjundas . The emotion is established in a strong way through screenplay when Arjun discusses his plan to avenge OG, the series of events are intercut in timeline for the audience, only for the ending (car crash) to be in front of their eyes. Brilliant!
The mind wanted #ArjunDas to just go full throttle on. In his case, I was expecting a strong, vengeful character but was surprised by this arc. At least it was not routine, but a fresh attempt. Did Sujeeth save him for part 2? Only time will tell.
Swag and style
Can’t complete a review of OG without talking about style. Power star is in his full element, a natural at swag and Sujeeth made sure there are ample moments for the fans highlight being the #Johnny callback. One of my favorite scenes is the police station entry walking scene. Unbelievable swag 🤘🏼.
Also, a big shout out to @emraanhashmi for carrying the Omi character with style. the #TranceOfOMI made him look menacing. It was a mini throwback to Once upon a time in Mumbai for me.
Timelines. Screenplay and Saaho connect
A 10 secs glimpse of Jackie Shroff and the #Saaho logo was enough to lit the screens on fire. 🔥 But did you notice the logo in the first 10 mins of the movie? Sujeeth teased the audience in a big way with this connect.
The timelines are confusing to begin with, starting to become a Sujeeth mark of screenplay, where it goes back and forth. But it all becomes clear at the end.
1970 OG goes to Mumbai from Japan, 8 years later he’s off (as mentioned by Arjun was) and only back 15 years later (1993). Then there is the Madurai connect, last spotted 7 years before the present timeline (1986). So what did he do between 1978 and 1986 is something we have not been shown, but a glimpse at the end teased us big time.
Expectation
For me #Sujeeth as a director can go beyond the typical commercial movie template with his command over screenplay. I expected more on the story from him but hoping the next ones in this franchise overcome those shortcomings!
