We are people who deeply care about these wild horses, we see them born and we see them die. We check on them every single day, they are like our family. We are sorry we were cu5sing on FB this morning, when little Cody went missing from his family band. We kindof already knew he was gone, because they just would have never left him.
We were still hoping it wasn't so though, and we werent giving up until we found him, because it's still better to know than not to know. From this morning untill now, our team was out in the extreme Arizona temperatures, and many photographers and public helped as well. We had a cold water station at Coon Bluff for everyone. The endless vast terrain is hard to search, and people pushed to their limits on every trail, every horse hangout, hoping for a different outcome, but the angels wouldn't have it. We really could not be more sorry to have to tell you this:
Sweet little Cody was found. Cached.
That means the mountain lion got him and buried him in the sand.
We are upset at this time and ask that you please forgive us for not responding for a while. For anyone who doesn't believe us, we can send you unpleasant pictures on request, but not now. We are worried about our volunteers and we are even worried about you, our dear followers, as we know these things are hard to learn about. It's a real loss, regardless if you had ever met him or not.
We thank everyone who helped, so much. We thank everyone for standing by us, for caring, and for being supportive.
Little Cody would have been 2 months old tomorrow. He was truly the most playful happy little colt with his zoomies every day.
