It's insane that the fact that the U.S. sent a fkn nuclear submarine to the middle east pointed at Iran this week, just got lost in the news.

I’m outraged at antizionists repeating the racist and ignorant colonizer libel. I’m finishing a PhD in anthropology and have spent years researching indigeneity, settler-colonialism, and genocide. My dissertation examines Jewish indigeneity and peoplehood, grounded in long-term research with Indigenous communities in the Amazon. From that perspective, the idea that Jews are “white settlers” in their own ancestral homeland is not a serious scholarly claim. It is a bigoted libel that collapses complex histories of peoplehood, exile, and return into a crude ideological script.

As with every other presidential election of our lifetimes, we were given two unacceptable options. As a pragmatist you took a gamble on one of them. As an idealist I declined to make that choice (believing they would both lead to disaster). We don’t know with certainty what a Harris presidency would have done but with Dick Cheney on her team, I’m pretty confident she’d be escalating against Iran too. Regardless of the shitty choices we made (my not voting was a shitty choice too!) we are all in the same boat now. Finger pointing will get us nowhere.
