“…Sylus?”
Your hands reach across empty sheets, finding them notably cool to the touch. Peering through heavy eyelids, you squint in the darkness looking for a familiar outlined figure but you’re met with messy sheets and an empty bed. Without so much as a glance at the clock, you roll yourself out of the far too comfortable bed with the blanket wrapped tightly around your shoulders. A warm light bleeds into the hallway from the partially closed door to Sylus’ study and the soft sounds of his vinyl player filter out through the crack in the door. Pushing it open, you see him staring aimlessly out the tall windows and into the dark abyss of the N109 zone.
“Sylus?” You call out softly, sleep still tugging at your very consciousness.
Sylus is quick to turn at the sound of your voice and an amused smile is fast to replace the blank expression he had before. He gestures you to him with open arms, his smile widening as you trudge over to him with blanket cape in tow. His scent is comforting as it surrounds you once more and beneath the heavy drape of the blanket, sleep once again calls to you.
“Did I wake you, kitten? I’m sorry.”
You snuggle deeper against his chest as your arms hug his middle. “Bed was cold without you.”
“Mm. I got lost in my thoughts. I didn’t realise so much time had passed already.”
You look up at Sylus and notice the weariness on his features. Your hands cup his cheeks, forcing him to look down upon you. “What’s wrong?”
Sylus scoffs. Scooping you up into his arms, he bundles you against him blanket at all. With steady steps, he makes his way back to the bedroom with you. “Just a nightmare, that’s all.”
A frown creases your brows as he sets you back down on the plush bed. You’re quick to pull him down with you, pinning him beneath as you scrutinise his face. Sylus laughs softly - between your sleep mussed hair and blanket drape, he thinks you truly look like a dishevelled kitten. He takes your hands and holds them tightly, bringing your knuckles up to his lips as he kisses them.
“I’m okay, sweetie. Let’s go back to sleep.”
“No. Not until you talk to me, Sylus.”
Sylus opens his mouth to retort but the fierceness in your eyes has him rethinking. Finally, he lets out a heavy breath.
“You were gone. I couldn’t find you. I never found you.”
Déjà vu washes over you at his words, as though you’ve heard them before. Gone is Sylus’ façade of nonchalance, replaced with a solemn expression you hadn’t seen on his face since the night on the rooftop when that energy linkage appeared. It was like he was staring across the universe and into the past.
“Well, then it’s a silly dream isn’t it?”
His brow raises at your response.
“I just…” you huff. You lean down until your head rests upon his chest, your ear pressed to the steady beats of his heart. “You always find me. It doesn’t matter where I am, somehow, you always know where I am and you find me. Or I find you. Either way, I don’t think anything could keep us apart.”
Sylus’ chest rumbles with laughter and his arms circle around you. “So confident, kitten.”
“Of course I am. You told me yourself, we’re kindred spirits. No matter what happens, our love transcends this world. So, as long as we love each other, nothing can keep us apart.”
For a moment, you hear nothing but the quickened beat of his heart. Then, a shaky breath. Sylus’ arms tighten around you and his lips press against the top of your head.
“You’re right. Nothing will change how much I adore and love you.”
“See, it was a silly dream. I will always be here, Sylus.”
“I know, kitten.”

hi everyone! um with everything going on with lads/ladstwt, in addition to my job and personal life being so fucking hectic, i think im gonna take a break for a hot second on the main. ngl i haven’t stopped crying in days over everything happening (and not happening) and the accumulation of all the sadness and anger i’ve been experiencing online and irl is just too much for me to handle right now. i can’t do it. i wish everyone well and the absolute best and ill be back eventually, but i need a break. love you all and sylus so much! take care!

The game is dying, the fandom is toxic. I'm leaving but keeping Xavier with me in my pocket. I might not continue playing the game but i will try to make xav content from time to time, while like I said before, I wanna focus on botanical illustration~
