आपमें से बहुत से लोग पिछले कई दिनों से पूछ रहे थे कि क्या मैंने टाइम्स नाउ नवभारत छोड़ दिया है.. जवाब है- हां न्यूज़ की पाठशाला के दर्शक जानना चाहते थे कि क्या अब मेरी और उनकी मुलाकात नहीं होगी.. जवाब है-- जी नहीं.. हम मिलते रहेंगे और पहले से ज्यादा मुखर होकर देश विरोधियों की लंका लगाते रहेंगे अगला सवाल है कहां मिलेंगे- फिल्हाल के लिए जवाब है कि वो सबसे बड़ा नेटवर्क जहां News देखने इंडिया आता है चाहे वो 18 से ऊपर का हो.. या नीचे का...😉 बाकी इतना ही कह सकता हूं फिल्हाल कि.. पिक्चर अभी बाकी नहीं.. बहुत बाकी है मेरे दोस्त.. जय हिंद 🫡

पौधे मर सकते हैं, इस बात का दुख है। किसी की नाजों से पली बिटिया मर गई मोहतरमा के घर में, उसका अंश मात्र अफ़सोस या दुख नहीं। बहू के मर जाने के बाद अगर ये महिला इतनी घटिया बातें बोल सकती है, तो पता नहीं उसके जीते जी उसे क्या क्या नहीं सुनाया होगा ! मानसिक रूप से कितना प्रताड़ित किया होगा। कहीं किसी से सुना था कभी कि “बहू चाँद पर रॉकेट भी उतार दे, तो भी जब तक ससुराल वालों को टेबल पर चाय नाश्ता दाल भात पकाकर ना खिला दे… उनका दंभ और लड़के वाले हैं जी वाली हनक नहीं जाएगी”

People often ask me: have you met ‘good’ people in politics? Yes, I have. Quite a few. One of them passed away yesterday. Former Ukhand CM Gen BC Khanduri was a politician who was committed to probity and public service. His work as surface transport minister in the Vajpayee led govt paved the way for a ‘road revolution’. Guess he was too honest in the end for the coarsened times in which we live. RIP. Om Shanti.

असल में यह सामंतवादी सोच और शहरी विकास के असफल और त्रुटिपूर्ण ढांचे को ही दिखाता है वरना मेट्रो से चलने में नेताओं द्वारा इतना एहसान दिखाने वाली क्या बात है। विकसित देशों में कितने नेता और महत्वपूर्ण पदों पर बैठे लोग पब्लिक ट्रांसपोर्ट से चलते हैं। साइकिल चलाते हैं लेकिन हमारे यहां यातायात का पूरा ढांचा ही प्राइवेट वाहनों के लिए सुखद और पब्लिक ट्रांसपोर्ट से चलने वालों के लिए कठिन है। इस देश में जनता का बड़ा हिस्सा हर रोज़ मेट्रो से चलता है। बसों के धक्के खाता है। मैं और बहुत सारे दूसरे पत्रकार मेट्रो का भरपूर इस्तेमाल करते हैं, पैदल चलते हैं। नेताओं या सेलिब्रिटीज़ की फोटोबाज़ी सिर्फ दिखाना और फरेब है।

दिल्ली की मुख्यमंत्री और उपराज्यपाल को मेट्रो से यात्रा करते देखना सुखद है । उम्मीद है कि वो ये सिर्फ कैमरे के लिये नहीं कर रहे बल्कि आगे भी संकट निपट जाने के बाद मेट्रो से चलते रहेंगे ताकि नागरिकों को सार्वजनिक परिवहन से जाने की प्रेरणा मिलती रहे और डीजल पेट्रोल की बचत होती रहे !
