@NDTiong_Edu The thing is, we have (or had) all the right ingredients for this recipe. We had PBS which helped to determine where each student is at for every skill, we had, as you pointed out, SISC+, lesson study etc. So MOE knows theoretically what are needed

These interventions can easily be designed (using best available evidence), piloted, then scaled across the system, with additional investment that's very small compared to our existing running costs. These, alongside free school meals, wld do so much to improve outcomes. /end.

In addition to the more obvious criticisms of this proposal, another reason why this new type of school is a bad idea is just that it's not cost-effective. Smart investment in our existing network of schools would cost considerably less and move the needle more (1/n)

I don’t think any parent would like their child to cry in planes, the stress and fear of being judged is insane. I brought a bag of snacks, iPad and toys but my 2.5 year old still wailed (lack of sleep, overtired etc). You really don’t know how they’ll be sometimes 😌

I would participate in a neighborhood cooking kutu. Like duit kutu, but with home cooked food. 5 members, every member takes turn to cook 1 day of the week for everyone. I’d have different things to eat everyday and technically would only need to cook once a week.

Wisdom from my kid: it’s okay to be okay. Sometimes there will always be a push and pull of concepts. The natural order of life. Yin and yang. When things are going good, how many times have we got a little nagging guilt, suspicion that something must be off? How do we respond to sometimes creeping sense of wanting to be the victim, and feeling we may not necessarily deserve the best? The stories we need to tell ourselves. To find a fault in our past and life circumstance. And sometimes, when the sun is out, day is bright, life is okay — it would be just good to take it in. Build the strength — deposit for rainy days whenever it comes.

It's not the curriculum per se - most probably what Muar MP @SyedSaddiq was referring to is the LEARNING that takes place in MY's schools. Malaysian students only received the equivalent of 8-9 years of schooling in real terms, despite attending school for 12.5 years. 1/n
