@luciascarlet postal service doesn't run on sundays, but private carriers do for extra money; specific to texas but you can't open a car dealership in most of Texas on Sunday for some fucking reason

@luciascarlet in the deep south a lot of places close either entirely or early on sunday, but it usually doesn't shut down completely you also can't buy alcohol down there basically anywhere except louisiana on sundays because christians temperance laws

one of the biggest “culture shocks” I had when I was in SF was that Sunday was just… a regular-ass day? where things actually happened? and you could go to places? in Germany, EVERYTHING is closed on Sundays except for stuff like train station stores, restaurants, McDonalds’s etc. where they’re either expected to operate (nearly) 24/7 or somewhere you’d often chill out at off work, and you will also never receive a package on a Sunday, ever but in SF almost everything would just… stay open from grocery stores to “pharmacies” to clothing stores and parcels DO get delivered on Sundays I’d also see a lot of weird opening schedules instead where stores would simply randomly be closed on Wednesdays or Tuesdays or something and they’d decide this themselves, but it’s actually rarely Sundays that they’re closed I wish we had this here…
