This makes me wonder what the Idaho of Europe is.

@Dalrymple Walking around city creekโ€ฆ a mall. These people are probably from a place thatโ€™s like the Idaho of Europe and SLC is the biggest city theyโ€™ve ever been to.

Can't remember the last time I shed a tear at the end of a bike race. I could not be more pleased for Wout van Aert. It would have been criminal if he'd ended his career without a win in a cobbled monument. To finally achieve it today, at the end of one of the most epic, dramatic and chaotic editions of Paris Roubaix seems fitting. And to do so in front of one of the top 2 riders of all time just adds to the prestige. Well done Wout. And Belgium: enjoy your party. Surely a national holiday has to be called tomorrow?! #parisroubaix

Originally called the Boulder Dam Project Act signed by President Calvin Coolidge in 1928 was championed by his Secretary of Commerce Herbert Hoover, from inception to finish the project would span three presidencies. ๐Ÿ”บAs Secretary of Commerce (under Presidents Harding and Coolidge), Hoover was the driving force behind the project. He chaired the Colorado River Commission, negotiated the Colorado River Compact (1922) that divided water rights among the basin states, and helped draft and push the Boulder Canyon Project Act through Congress. โบ๏ธ He was elected president in November 1928 and took office in March 1929. โบ๏ธ On June 25, 1929, President Hoover signed the proclamation that made the Colorado River Compact effective (a required condition for the project to proceed). โบ๏ธ In 1930, his Secretary of the Interior, Ray Lyman Wilbur, officially named it Hoover Dam at a groundbreaking ceremony. ๐Ÿ”บConstruction under Hoover: โบ๏ธ Bids were opened and the contract awarded to Six Companies, Inc. in March 1931 (while Hoover was still president). โบ๏ธ Hoover ordered work to begin earlier than originally planned (in spring 1931 instead of later that year). โบ๏ธ Actual heavy construction (river diversion, etc.) ramped up in 1931โ€“1932 under his administration. The project employed roughly 21K workers at the height of the depression 96 of whom would lose their lives during this massive undertaking

Itโ€™s pretty funny to read how many posts I see on here from conservatives about how glad that we are back on the moon. Umm. We are not back on the moon.
JohnReese@PilotoWarrior

@DaleStarkA10 I was in grade school when the last man walked on the moon. It IS life changing looking up at the moon knowing there are AMERICANS walking on it. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Jared should take over UPS now so my belt and goodies show up sooner. Todayโ€™s wear.

One of the responses to this is a guy admitting that he would rather not live longer than having the church publicly out him as a doctor marrying kind of guy. Because masculinity or something. LOL.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints@Ch_JesusChrist

โ€œI grew up in Arizona, served a mission in Mexico, and went to college thinking I had a pretty clear path for my life. Then I met my now wife Victoria, and everything changed in the best way. โ€œShe always knew she wanted to be a doctor. Pediatric neurology isnโ€™t an easy road, but itโ€™s who she is, compassionate, steady, brilliant, and drawn to help kids and families through the hardest things life hands them. When she got into med school in California, we packed up and moved. โ€œStepping into her dream together was an easy choice. I wanted to support her the way she has always supported me. And honestly, watching her work and sacrifice and love people like she does has strengthened my faith more than anything else. โ€œMy path hasnโ€™t been as clear. Iโ€™ve tried different directions, learned a lot, prayed a lot. Some days I still feel like Iโ€™m figuring it out. But I do know that God doesnโ€™t measure timelines. He measures love, humility, and the way we show up for each other. โ€œSupporting her doesnโ€™t shrink my purposeโ€”it expands it. Our callings from God can look different, and thatโ€™s beautiful. Iโ€™m building my future too, but Iโ€™m grateful that right now, part of my purpose is cheering for the person I love most as she steps into hers. โ€œThereโ€™s not one 'right way' to build a family or a future. For us, this is ours. And itโ€™s sacred.โ€ โ€” Nate
